Here is the latest hot hardware news on SSD. Micron, a Media drive company announced their latest RealSSD C200 with capacity of 256GB Solid State Disc will begin to ship this March 2009. The SSD promises a better capacity and a fastest (for now) reads at 250Mb/s. Faster than the latest SSD from Samsung’s 256GB SSD that reads on 220Mb/s level.
Micron RealSSD 256GB Solid State Drive
“Micron’s SSDs provide preformatted mass memory storage and enable shorter boot and start-up times, increased reliability, lower power consumption, and lighter-weight designs than standard hard drives. This device supports SATA 3.0 Gb/s and is backward compatible with the SATA 1.5 Gb/s standard.”

The only downside Micron RealSSD 256GB SSD is the slow write time of 100Mb/s. But somehow that ugly side has been covered by the cheaper price mark compared to any other SSD in the market.
