Many concept designer try to turn old stuff into glowing and shining gadget for the future. One of the is this fabulous lamp made of transparent glass/plastic in the form of a Rubik’s cube.
Rubik Cube Lamp Concept
Rubik’s lamp is an innovative project based on the popular toy from the eighties. Much like the original Rubik’s cube, the lamp is composed of 26 smaller cube-like pieces, whose interlocking shapes fit onto each other.
The rotation of each face of the main cube allows the arrangement of up to forty-three quintillion different combinations, each one providing different lighting. Colored patterns and chaotic, kaleidoscopic lighting can be created by not leaving the main rows parallel to each other.
Rubik’s Lamp is a creative solution for customized lighting, and, just like the original toy, presents itself as a fun, challenging puzzle.
Rubik’s Lamp is one of the most awesome lamp concept I’ve ever come across this year 2008. You can get millions of color combination by twisting and twirling the cube or just leave there by default to get a full solid color on the each side of the cube.
