Archos 7 Internet Media Tablet

If you are looking for portable home cinema system that you can take it anywhere in your palm, Archos 7 might be one of the interesting media tablet that will pull your attention.


Archos 7 is the jewel of Archos’ product line, the award-winning PMP manufacturer. Archos 7 has a 7-inch TFT LCD with 16 millions of colors. The screen also allow you fit in 800 x 480 pixels images or video. Pretty large compared to iPod touch’s 480 x 320.

The video type supported by Archos 7 ranging from MPEG-42 ([email protected] AVI, up to DVD resolution), WMV ([email protected], up to DVD resolution) including WMV protected files and M-JPEG (Motion JPEG Video) in QVGA resolution.

The audio side is not bad, too. It support MP3, WMA, Protected WMA, WMA pro 5.1, Flac and OGG Vorbis audio files. There are more audio files supported with optional plugin as well.

More interesting feature is the web browsing capability. Archos 7 have Wi-Fi/3.5G modem built-in which allows you to access to thousands of web TV and podcast channels.

They are currently 2 versions available in the market. The 160GB and 320GB that allows you store up to 400 movies, 3.2 millions of photos or 190,000 songs.
