Dell recently has released a new version of laptop, the Studio 14z or z series. Some said this series is a student friendly laptop but I’m not sure where they are pointing at. But this series sure has some interesting features attached in it. Such as the FailSafe Theft protection and PowerShare USB charging which allow you to charge your USB devices even you’ve shutdown the laptop.

FailSafe Theft protection is one of the feature that you can track your lost laptop (stolen in this case) via the web when the thief go online with that PC. But it sure has some disadvantages. What if the thief never go online? :)

Another disadvantages of Dell Studio 14z Laptop is you won’t find any optical drive in it. It’s pretty similar to netbook’s tragedy, which forced you to buy your own external optical drive if you want to watch DVD movie.

The other mentionable specification of Dell Studio 14z laptop is the thin dimension, weighs in 4.3lbs, Power by Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 3GB DDR3 RAM, NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphic card, 500GB hard drive storage, 14-inch LED backlit screen, WiFi, 1.3MP webcam, 8-in-1 card reader, Bluetooth and HDMI.

Pretty crowded of features anyway! The price is start at $649 upward. You could get an instant saving for the thousands dollar price. Oh, did I mention it has colorful choices, too? :)
