QNAP SS-839 Pro Turbo NAS


Here is another network storage for you to expand your storage capacity. It’s a new NAS from QNAP dubbed as QNAP SS-839 Pro Turbo NAS. What’s special in this series? Well, it has total of 8-bay ready for you to slot in 500GB 2.5-inch hard drive each which sum up to the total of 4TB maximum.

This is amazing, it physically defeated Western Digital ShareSpace in dimension, but lost completely to WD in Capacity.

This QNAP SS-839 Pro Turbo NAS is an Intel Atom powered NAS. Provided up to 2GB RAM, supports RAID 0/1/3/6/5+ hot spare, single, and JBOD, Online RAID Capacity Expansion, and Online RAID Level Migration.

QNAP SS_839 Pro Turbo Network Attached Storage also offers AES 256-bit volume-based encryption for security reasons.


QNAP’s new Turbo NAS includes built-in iSCSI target feature providing an affordable IP-SAN (Storage Area Network) alternative. It can be used a a file server, FTP server, web server and even iTunes server and UPnP media server. It offers two Gigabit RJ-45 Ethernet ports and two eSATA ports.

There is no availability information yet, and no price tag either. But this QNAP SS-839 Turbo NAS is going to hit the shelf soon.
