According to the rumor spreaded in the web, the latest Intel Six-Core CPU which has been codenamed with ‘Gulftown’ will be marked with Core i9. This rumor is declined by Intel but Gigabyte has clearing stating that Gulftown as Core i9 is disallowed in their latest ‘Beats Me If You Dare’ competition.
Intel Gulftown uses LGA1366 socket, so probably user will have no hard time upgrading their processor if they have one of the modern motherboard. According to the discussion, this Six-Core CPU is going to cost you about $1,500+ a pop, but there is no news yet on the performance and what is the different between Core i9 and the previous i-series.
