AIDA: Robotic Head on Car Dashboard as Your GPS Navigator

aida-gps-navigation-systemAIDA, which stand for ‘Affective Intelligent Driving Assistant’ robotic head is a smart GPS Navigation system that will serves you like king when driving. The robot meant to be placed on your car dashboard (so I assume the size is pretty small), showing you a friendly and smiley faces while guiding you through the shortest path to your destination.

Even better, AIDA will also track your driving habit, remember where you have been, your usual destination, and it can even detect your gas level and where is the best place to get refill.

AIDA is still under development by three research groups (MIT SENSElab, MIT’s Media Lab’s Personal Robots Group and Volkswagen Group of America’s Electronics Research Lab) now, so the picture above is one of their prototype for AIDA.
