Western Digital Intros WD S25 10,000RPM 2.5-inch HDD
Top spin of 2.5-inch hard drive has long stop on 7,200rpm, but now Western Digital has stepped forward by officially introduced their first 2.5-inch HDD with 10,000 RPM rotary speed, which is also known as the WD S25.
The WD S25 hard drive is not only the first 10,000RPM laptop hard drive, it’s also the first SAS (Serial Attached SCSI) interface HDD to get such a speed. WD S25 will come in two capability – 147GB and 300GB with either SAS 3.0 Gbps or SAS 6.0 Gbps interface.
Sadly though, Western Digital has targeted the enterprise market instead of consumer market. So you won’t see it selling anywhere in the store yet.
