It’s been awhile that we haven’t catch a news on the motherboard development and releases. Today we have seen one cool performance motherboard from MSI that is also known as the XPower X58 motherboard created for Intel’s Gulftown CPU.
MSI XPower X58 is the new extreme edition motherboard that come out after Trinery and Fuzion models which has made a huge impacts in the gaming performance. The board is using the standard X58+ICH10R chipset, and a massive 6 PCI-Express x16 slots, as well as 6 DDR3 memory slots provided for user to expand their gaming needs.
While adorned in a distinctly MSI aesthetic, it looks like the engineers have been reading the EVGA manual on motherboard design. Despite the six PCI-Express x16 slots (it appears two x16, four x8), and sixteen DrMOS phases plus Hi-C(apacity) caps, the keen eyed among you will see the board has two 8-pin CPU 12V power connectors and one 6-pin PCI-Express connector, in addition to the usual 24-pin ATX connector. Hardcore indeed.
For the additional features, you will find two digit LED readout, USB 3.0 ports, SATA 6Gbps, MSI 8mm Superpipe cooling design, V-Check points and the cool ‘Quantum Wave audio card with THX and EAX support.
However, there is no benchmark score released yet, so we have no clue how this so called ‘Big Bang Board’ would perform under maximum configuration and settings. MSI XPower X58 Motherboard will be released at the end of Q1 or around March 2010.
