MSI has officially introduce their latest black-blue freak motherboard known as the 890FXA-GD70 motherboard. This motherboard has a high and mighty features, and it has offering RD890 and SB850 / AMD 890FX chipset to power up the resources.
As for the board design, MSI 890FX-GD70 AM3 board has a nice black + blue color theme, and they are pretty thoughtful to throw the SATA ports (as well as the IDE Header) to the sideways, leaving only one SATA 6.0 Gbps port attached in the lower part of the motherboard. This kind of design won’t bring any nuisances if you have bunch of SATA devices connected. You can easily install/remove any graphic cards or PCI card without disturb by the cable.
As the title said, MSI is an AM3 supportive motherboard. It also packs with Military Class Components (Hi-c CAPs, Solid CAPs, and Icy Chokes – lowtemperature inductors), the OC Genie overclocking feature, core unlocking capabilities, DrMOS, APS (Active Phase Switching), and Winki, the Taiwanese company’s own instant-on OS.
From the overview, you can see there are four DDR3 RAM slots (2133). To the lower side, you can find up to 5 PCi-Express x16 slots that support CrossFireX setups, and one PCI slot.
Heading to the back panel, you can find one eSATA port, Dual Gigabit Ethernet, two USB 3.0 connectors, and 7.1 channel audio system. Looks like a nice motherboard that does it all. Unfortunately, there is no benchmark yet and the pricing remain undisclosed.
