Nintendo Wii, the candidate to the world most popular game console that has been making a great 70 millions world wide selling record is rumored to be having the HD version in their secret lab and it’s going to make its surface around next year 2011. This should be pretty promising as the HD version of Wii can really upscale the needs for those who have own an Full HD HDTV. The current Wii is only supporting 480p, which is still pretty ‘un-smooth’ when viewed with component cable on the HDTV.
The rumor also stating that Wii 2 or Wii HD will comes with the support of Blu-ray player, which many has hoping to jump upon, except the hackers that still unable to goes through the PlayStation 3 system. This also mean that Wii will be “securer” in the future, less pirated games circulating in the Internet.
But this is just a rumor. Implementing Blu-ray player means Nintendo have to invest more money which probably will result in a higher price when released. Since PS3 is already down to $299 right now, it’s pretty absurd if their price is higher than that level and people who have thought PS3 as the next get Wii HD thanks to the PlayStation Move controller may just ignore the release because they’ve already own something equally good.
