Guys over at XDA developers has successfully overclocked Samsung Captivate (Galaxy S) processor from 1GHz to 1.2Ghz to give a bit of speed boost to run applications faster.
According to their theory, the Samsung Galaxy S could be overclocked to 1.6Ghz in the future. But for now, Android smartphones overclockers should not overclock more than 1.2Ghz if they don’t want to toast their Android phone.
It’s recommended not to overclock a cell phone processor speed, but if you think that you want to take this challenge (while holding the risk to break your Android Phone), head on over to XDA developers forum for the guide.
