USB 3.0 has become a standard right now. Most new release of Hard drive, flash drive, or other USB gadget has coming with the support of this new superspeed interface. Samsung also rolled out their new S2 Portable External HDD with the support of USB 3.0, but it seems there is no backward compatibility to support the old standard of USB 2.0 and USB 1.1. Which mean, if you are laptop or desktop have no USB 3.0 ports, you’ll have to pay extra for the adapter/addons card to give them this feature.
Samsung S2 USB 3.0 Portable Hard drive is using a SATA 2.5-inch HDD that spins at 7200RPM to ensure maximum speed of the transfer rate, and Samsung’s Low Vibration Dynamic Balancing technology and low noise technologies SilentSeek™ and NoiseGuard™ will eliminate the annoying buzzing sound created by the high-speed spinning platters.
Additionally, Samsung also pre-loaded S2 External Hard drive with Auto Backup, SecretZone and SafetyKey features to help you backup the data seal the hard drive from ‘naughty hands’.
Samsung S2 will be available later in this month in Europe market in two sizes (320GB and 640GB) with undisclosed price.
