Apricorn has a new gadget called EZ Writer II, which is a portable optical drive that is very suitable for netbook users or ultraportable notebook owners where their system is lack of a built-in optical drive.

Apricorn EZ Writer II is nothing but a regular external portable optical drive. It can burn CDs up to 24x and DVDs up to 8x speed. The Apricorn EZ Writer II portable optical drive require two USB ports to power up properly, thus, it needs a ‘Y’ USB adapter to pull power from two USB ports. This might become a problem if your netbook or ultraportable PC has only one USB port. So you’ll have to make sure that your system have enough ports before planning to get this Apricorn EZ Writer II Optical drive!
Apricorn EZ Writer drive is only 11.7 ounces and measures in 0.84-inch (H) x 5.75-inch (W) x 5.95-inch (L). It’s now available for $79 with a handy $25 mail-in rebate option.
