Samsung Enters High-Performance 100GB And 200GB SSD For Enterprise Storage

Samsung is pumping up their factory to produce the new 3.5-inch 100GB and 200GB SSD that uses 40nm class single level Cell (SLC) NAND Flash chips for the Enterprise level usage.

The SSD will be able to random read commands at 47,000 IOPS(input/output per second) and randomly writes at 29,000 IOPS.

Quite a jargon here, but that’s all about how fast the SSD can write data. Theoretically The new Samsung SSDs can read data at 260MB/s ans write data at 245MB/s under the SATA 3Gb/s interface, which is quite strange why Samsung won’t use the fastest 6Gb/s interface that could transfer faster.
