Kingston has just rolled out new USB flash drive that has been protected by its cool looking rubber rugged enclosure. This flash drive is marked with DataTraveler R500 on the code list, and it’s one of their new rugged flash drive that will be produced in size of 16GB, 32GB and 64GB.
Kingston DataTraveler R500 Rugged flash drive is not yet a USB 3.0 flash drive, so you can only expect the flash drive to read and write at the speed of 30MB/s and 20MB/s, respectively. Though I guess not everyone is ready to jump on the new USB 3.0 standard even it’s been a year since the technology launched. Which mean this Kingston DataTraveler R500 USB 2.0 rugged flash drive still has its own future.
When it has hit the store, Kingston DataTraveler R500 rugged flash drive has the MSRP of 36.40 Euro (about $49 USD) for the 16GB model, 70.50 Euro (about $96 USD) for 32GB model and 162.38 Euro (about $221 USD) for 64GB model in Europe.
