Data Robotics has just announced their new Drobo S storage system for network storage. This is the second generation of Drobo, which has been added the new SuperSpeed Interface USB 3.0 in addition to the existing firewire 800 and eSATA connection.
Drobo S Storage system support up to 5 3.5-inch SATA I or SATA II hard drives, and it has an amazing technology called BeyondRAID that provides easy usage, data safety with self-healing technology that automatically scanning sectors to ensure our data is safe.
Since it’s using USB 3.0 superspeed interface, the performance of Drobo S storage system is 10 times faster than the first generation of Drobo NAS. Aside from that, this Drobo S also include dual-drive redundancy option that could protect the data from failures (up to two drives). And if your computer doesn’t have any USB 3.0 interface yet, Drobo S features enhanced backwards compatibility with USB 2.0 interface too.
For the pricing details, this Data Robotics Drobo S storage system is available starting at $799 and it could go up to $1,799 for a 10TB bundle.
