Things are getting hotter and hotter after the first successful jailbreak with USB dongle. PS3 is now facing the most challenging moment where someone named KaKaRoTo has released a set of tools that let hacker/developer/gamers to create their own custom PS3 firwmare. This may lead to a fully open ‘door’ for gamers to install their personal homebrew, and may lead to a negative impact where piracy of PS3 games growing rapidly in the web.
There is also a breaking news that even the latest GT5 (Grand Turismo 5) has been hacked to run on lower firmware and probably all games that would be released in the future will face the same fate.
Now, it’s time for Sony to respond to this attack. Will Sony be able to overcome this problem and turn the table around with the next batch of firmware update?
