Over at Japan, Sony has showing off their new series of Monolithic Bravia HDTV that features Sony’s Edge LED Panel and an internal 500GB HDD storage. There are three new models introduced, including 22-inch KDL-22EX42H, 32-inch KDL-32EX42H and 40-inch KDL-40EX42H. The 40-inch model has full HD resolution support, but both 22-inch and 32-inch doesn’t. They only supporting up to 1366 x 768 at max and they all are not 3D compatible.
But all Sony Bravia Monolithic HDTV can record video on an external hard drive through USB connection. Now I wonder what’s the use of the built-in HDD? I presume it’s made for internal storage for your recorded movie, where you can then copy it down to your computer or share it on your home network. The flagship model 40-inch has included Ethernet port that you can hook it up to your wired home network. It will cost about $1800, while the other two model (22 and 32-inch) have no pricing yet.
