Sony Jumped On The Tablet Bandwagon

Finally, Sony the giant manufacturer from Japan has decided to take the challenge by launching their own new tablet devices that would be called as S2 and VAIO branded Windows 7 powered tablet slider. The tablet market is over-saturated since last year, but I’m sure Sony has their own selling point for their product in order to survive in the strive competition.


According to the claims, Sony S2 is going to be another tablet that run Android OS, Powered by NVIDIA Tegra 2 SoC, has wifi, 3g, front facing and rear facing camera. However, what’s more is the Android OS will be optimized for dual screen setting because Sony S2 will be coming with a pair of 5.5-inch display and will works just like Kyocera Echo.

Meanwhile, the VAIO-branded Windows 7 slider tablet is packed with 9.4-inch touchscreen, running Intel Atom Pine trail CPU instead of NVIDIA SoC. However, there is no more details offered by Sony.

As for the pricing, Sony S2 will be price at $699 while the VAIO-branded one will be as expensive as Motorola Xoom tablet at $799.
