Angry Birds, one of the most popular iOS game has been set out as a free download with ads for Android platform. The result is showing great success. The game has been downloaded as many as 30 million times and Rovio Mobile has made up to 6 million dollar advertising revenue per month to date. That is HUGE!
It seems if you are smart enough to develop a competing app like Angry birds, a dream of instant millionaire is not impossible.
Beside their revenue announcement, Rovio Mobile also stated in GDC (Game Developers Conference) that the full version of Angry birds for Android will be released soon. This version will be free of ads for the same pricing as the iOS version, but probably it will also includes their micro payment system where you can purchase extra items or quests using their Bad Piggy bank.
