Finally, HP has confirmed that their very own tablet – the HP TouchPad is going to be available starting this June 2011. Although Apple iPad 2 has been released and it’s proved to be stronger than Motorola Xoom, there is no way for HP to lose spirit with this fight yet. According to HP’s CEO Leo Apotheker, this HP TouchPad will be first released in the US for $499 onward, and following up with global launch later in this year.
As a refresh, HP TouchPad is the first tablet to get WebOS 3.0 OS treatment. It has the similar screen size as iPad 2 at 9.7-inch (supporting 1024×768) multi-touch capacitive display, stronger processor at 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon dual core processor, either 16GB or 32GB inner storage, front facing camera, acceleromenter, A-GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth, micro-USB port, and more.
No idea if HP will released several version of TouchPad like Apple with their WiFi+3G and WiFi-Only models.
