We were puzzled by the wording 78910 at first, but now it make sense. Samsung should be pointing at their Galaxy Tab series that come with 7-inch, 8.9-inch and 10.1-inch. After their teasers, now Samsung has officially released two tablet devices, namely the Galaxy Tab 8.9 and Galaxy Tab 10.1 that we thought It wouldn’t make it to the market so soon.
Now, big talk ahead. Samsung is tailing their Galaxy Tab 8.9 and Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablets with the title of “Worlds Thinnest Mobile Tablets” as both of the tablets are scoring at 8.6mm thick only. That’s is a hair thin difference with Apple iPad 2 at 8.64mm, but they are still the thinnest after all.
Both Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 and Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 should be coming with Android 3.0 HoneyComb OS and they’ve got a special UI treatment with Samsung’s own TouchWiz UI.
As for the core specs, both tablets will be powered by 1GHz dual core processor and display that support 1280 x 800. Samsung has also announced the pricing for both models, where they will be coming in three different sizes including 16GB and 32GB (no 64GB version yet).
Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 WiFi version 16GB will retail for $469 and $569 for 32GB model. As for Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 WiFi version, the 16GB and 32GB will retail for $499 and $599, respectively. Sadly, there is no info on the WiFi+3G version yet.
