I believe you’ve seen lots of touch screen devices circulating in the market lately. Whether it is a tablet device, a touchscreen netbook, or even a dual screen tablet like Toshiba Libretto. The are so cool that I’ve ever think that it would be better to have something like all-in-one touchscreen system where I can get all of the stuffs (tablet, laptop, cell phone, etc) for the price of one. Well, I’m not sure if René Woo-Ram Lee is reading my mind or not, but it seems this cool designer has the same idea as mine.
He designed the Bento Laptop Tablet Hybrid, which has mixed the following into one solid union:
- Laptop with 15″ OLED screen
- 11″ tablet and 4″ phone sit in shallow depressions
- Solar powered lithium-ion battery
- 1TB SSD drive
This Bento Box is definitely my most wanted gadget to replace my current system. I’m willing to pay high if this kind of system exist right now. Well, I do think that most of geeks would be interested with such a cool design. Now what is the story behind its name “Bento”?
I guess it’s because once you’ve removed all of the removable parts, including the tablet, phone, solar cell, you are left with an empty tray with that looks like a bento box where you can fill in rices, soup, meats or egg rolls with sauce.
Well, since it’s just a concept at the moment, all we can do is to enjoy the rendered pictures at Yanko and hope that Fujitsu will really pick it up and develop similar hybrid system for the mass. The technology is ready now, all it needs is someone to put their money in and they will be born.
