Samsung Series 5 Chromebook Shipping Today

This Wednesday is kind of special for Google because it’s the first day for their first chromebook notebook to start shipping out. Working out the release closely with Samsung, this Series 5 Chromebook is first notebook with Chrome OS native support. It has 12.1-inch display, powered by Intel Atom N570 processor, has 16GB SSD and 2GB RAM. It needs no large storage because most of the apps can be accessed directly online (cloud computing). Samsung Series 5 Chromebook notebook is coming with WiFi connectivity, and there is an optional 3G model, too.

This Chromebook also features two USB 2.0 ports, 4-in-1 memory card reader, VGA output, stereo speakers, 1-megapixel webcam, full-sized keyboard and a 6-cell battery. Since it’s the first version of Chrome OS notebook, you’ll have to prepare for some unexpected surprises on the system itself. I’ve never been a first to try anything new since I’m still doubt on its stability. Well, let’s hope Google as a big company can release something worthwhile, not like ‘M’ with their Version 7 (Vista) OS that is still buggy as hell.

Price wise, Samsung Series 5 Chromebook WiFi model is selling for $430, while the WiFi + 3G model cost you $500, at $70 higher.
