Apple is looking to replace their existing hardware/physical button on their iPhone or iPad (or other iOS Devices) with their next gen of OS. In iOS 5 beta 3 stage, guys at 9to5Mac has discovered and upgraded version of a feature called AssistiveTouch. This feature is going to be the replacement for hardware button, where users can actually access to home screen, locking the device, adjusting volume by using gesture-based interaction.
It sounds promising for those who hate button on a phone, either it’s because they are noise or not modern at all. It should have been invented from the start to accompany the touchscreen functionality. I would love to use the multi-finger gestures command to back to home screen instead of pushing a button. Perhaps that way I would looks better and cooler.
