Apple yesterday has released the world’s first Thunderbolt display that make the best use of the thunderbolt port.
The display itself is supporting up to 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution, has faceTime HD camera built-in, high quality audio, three USB 2.0 ports, FireWire, Gigabit ethernet port and a Thunderbolt port for daisy-chaining other high performance devices.
Thunderbolt connection allow up to 10Gbps throughput in two channels, and it’s about 20 times faster than USB 2.0 or two times faster than USB 3.0.
However, this new cutting edge technology is very expensive. Apple Thunderbolt display is priced at $999 a pop, which is an additional investment aside the Macbook or iMac.
