Most smartphone will be a rugged one until they’ve got their own special casing. Such as, an iPhone will become waterproof after installing case like Rainballet from JoyFactory or something else. However, the case is different for this Samsung Galaxy XCover.
Samsung Galaxy XCover is a new smartphone that is ‘rugged’ by default and no need to sleeve or case it with something else. Samsung Galaxy XCover featuring IP67 certification and scratch resistant tempered glass.
The IP67 certification is all about the dust protection and up to 1m depth of water for 30 minutes. For example, you can really bring this buddy into your bathtub and play your favorite Angry birds inside the water for 30 minutes. Though I’m not sure if it’s better or not, but it’s definitely interesting to try if you have this smartphone.
Other specs that is also included in this Samsung Galaxy XCover is the 3.2 megapixel camera with LED flash, 3.6-inch touchscreen panel, running Android 2.3 Gingerbread, support 7.2Mbps HSDPA network, bluetooth and WiFi network.
No idea how much it will cost and when it will be launched.
