Philips’ Fidelio range of speakers really have an unique designs. First, I saw them on their announcement back in March 2011 known as Fidelio SoundSphere. It’s like a carnivorous fly trap plant, but it has a big belly and no thorny mouth. The big belly is where the sound will resonated, while in the design perpective, Fidelio SoundSphere is equal to a nice decoration for your living room. Now, after the SoundSphere, Philips has rolled out another Fidelio speaker called Fidelio SoundRing.
This is the donut. Mmmm. no, it’s the ring shaped wireless speaker that looks like a grey donut without topping.
Philips Fidelio SoundRing is featuring a wireless connectivity to any iOS device (or PC) with AirPlay enabled. Those includes Macbook, iPad, iPod, iPhone, PC and so on. Since it’s a wireless speaker, Fidelio SoundRing speaker has a rechargeable battery built-in.
However, there is no details how long the battery will last per charge, and what type of battery the speaker is using. Also, there is no pricing details revealed yet. It’s been demoed at IFA 2011 in Berlin, so I hope we can get the pricing and release date in the next few weeks.
