For the space and storage-junkie out there, Buffalo has announced that they are going to launch two new external HDDs that are going to use the USB 3.0 interface for better transfer speed. This two storage solutions are now known as the Buffalo MiniStation Extreme and DriveStation Axis Velocity with both models have been full protected with 256-bit AES hardware encryption technology for better security and data breach.
Buffalo MiniStation Extreme USB 3.0 (HD-PZU3) is the portable type of external hard drive. It’s still using the old design with durable protection to the hard drive and their unique wrap-around USB cable that is built into the case. The case it self is rugged enough to protect from certain level of fall from the desk on certain height.
This MiniStation Extreme USB 3.0 portable external hard drive is going to be available in three colors (black, gray and red) and two sizes of 500GB and 1TB for the MSRP of $94.99 and $129.99, respectively.
Meanwhile, the DriveStation Axis Velocity USB 3.0 (HD-LXU3) is a desktop style of external HDD. Inside the glossy black case, there is a 3.5-inch hard drive with 7200RPM rotary speed. No built-in USB cable like the MiniStation, but a USB 3.0 cable is supplied in the bundle. As for the size, Buffalo DriveStation Axis Velocity is going to be available in 1TB, 2TB and 3TB for the MSRP of $94.99, $134.99 and $179.99, respectively.
Both of them are set to release on October 2011 in the States with two-year limited warranty.
