Over at MWC 2012, ASUS has rolled out two new tablet devices that would be a great alternative to both Transformer Prime TF201 and 700 series. The first one is ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity, which is a high-end 10.1-inch tablet with Super IPS+ display and it has option where you can choose from having a quad core Tegra 3 SoC or LTE model with dual core Qualcomm snapdragon S4 CPU. Other features also includes rear facing 8MP camera, front facing 2MP camera, WiFi b/g/n and bluetooth 4.0 connectivity. It will retails for $799 for the 64GB model.
Meanwhile, the second tablet is the Transformer Pad 300. This series is considered as the budget-friendly tablet for Eee Pad Transformer fans. According to Asus, Transformer Pad 300 is going to cost $399 only, which is about 100-200 dollar cheaper than the Prime series. Of course, it will come with a lower quality and built. For example, there is no more aluminum body, using standard IPS display instead of Super IPS+ and lower capacity at 16GB only. However, this tablet will still be treated with Android ICS 4.0.
If you feel good dealing with plastic body, I’m sure this Transformer Pad 300 will be a good budget-tablet. It might even become a great choice for students who have been looking for a quality branded tablet with low pricing. At $399, consumer has been given more choice to spend their money. They can go for netbook or tablet depends on their needs.
