I’m not quite the follower of carbon fiber stuffs, but these bundle really looks quite intriguing. If you’ve been the fans of carbon fiber gadget, you might want to check out this bundle of three Escort Carbon Fiber Dagger made with aerospace grade woven and uni-directional pre-preg.
The outer surface of those daggers are constructed with 3k 2×2 twill weave fabric and 12 layers of uni directional fiber on the inner surface. The handles are thicker as they’ve been made with 36 layers of carbon fiber.
Here is the details of those three daggers:
Escort Carbon Fiber Dagger Knife weighs just 31.2 grams, a tiny bit over 1 ounce. The design features a slot in the blade. The knife is 7 3/8″ long and 1″ wide with a blade thickness of .100″ and handle thickness of .300″.
Escort II Carbon Fiber Dagger Knife weighs just 24.5 grams, a tiny bit under 1 ounce. The knife features a honeycomb design, helping to lighten its weight. The knife is 8″ long and 1″ wide with a blade thickness of .100″ and handle thickness of .300″.
Escort III Carbon Fiber Dagger Knife weighs just 20.67 grams, under 1 ounce. This is the lightest of the bunch, but still incredibly strong. The knife is 9″ long and 1.250″ wide with a blade thickness of .100″ and handle thickness of .300″.
They looks really cool, but as for the usefulness, those daggers are not designed for cutting stuffs. It’s designed for self-defense and more suitable for stabbing on objects instead of slicing or cutting. The dagger is not sharp and there is no way to make it sharp like a common knife. However, it can be “sharpened” to a certain extent by using sandpaper or sharpening stone.
So, don’t expect that you can use it to peal potato, cutting weeds, or slicing tree’s root using these daggers. Head on over to CarbonFiberGear for more information.
