The New iPad (or the iPad 3rd Gen) has starting to get new accessories where you can expand its ability and features. The latest one is this all-in-one card reader from M.I.C. gadget that allows you to access to your files in Compact flash, SD or microSD cards directly on your new iPad.
This card reader is compatible with cards like 600x compact flash, Class 10, UHS-I SD Cards or microSD cards.
Summary of features:
- The New Card Reader now comes with SD, CF, microSD card slots and a USB port
- Supports 600X CF Cards and Class 10 / UHS-I SD Cards
- Improved reading speed and the initial time taken to load the device
- Added OPTIONAL extra power input port to support all kinds of cards / external devices when the voltage given by the iPad is not enough
Due to software limitation, you are not be able to put read data from multiple cards from different type (i.e. CF, SD, microSD or USB). You can only read one at a time, and there is some problem with iOS 5.0.1.
Since iOS 5.0.1, iPad has changed its way reading the Memory Cards. It will first detect the total capacity of your CF Card before showing the images and the videos within, and this process may take up to 5-10 seconds. Please do not remove your card or card reader during this startup process.
This card reader is available for $32.90 a pop. If you are interested, you can head on to MIC gadget store for the details. There are more video reviews at the store if you need more information.
