It seems Sony haven’t got the chance to beat Microsoft in term of selling the most console in 2011. Microsoft is still winning the match last year thanks to the never-ending supplies of exclusive title and Kinect games.

It sounds pretty amazing as Xbox 360 has been in the market for years and we can considered it as the “old gramps” in the console market. However, this guy is still alive and kickin’!

According to the statistic, Microsoft Xbox 360 is still outselling Sony Playstation 3 by over 2.7 million units, and it has successfully caught more than 49% of consumer retail spending in game market.

Even until now, Xbox 360 is still selling hot in the United States. According to VGChartz, Last week Microsoft has sold over 119,000+ Xbox 360, leaving Sony behind the third rank at 87,404. Surprisingly, 3DS sales is getting higher this year, and Wii has slowly getting out from the top position.

It’s would be interesting to see who’s going to be the leader in 2012, and I’m also hoping that Microsoft will have something new to be announced in this year E3 expo (like Xbox 720 or new gen of Xbox would be cool).

We have seen that in the Real Steel movie, the Xbox 720 has appeared in the sponsor list. Although it’s just a movie, I believe they wouldn’t just make it up for nothing. Now, according to Edge, it’s possible that Microsoft will show off the hardware in CES 2012 next year, while the actually console will be hitting the store in late 2012.

However, we are not quite a rumor believer in the first place. It’s sure that Microsoft Xbox 360 console has flooded the market for quite some time now. But it think it’s still too early for the next gen console to appear. 2013 would be a suitable year if they really want to hit the mass with something cool, not 2012.

We haven’t heard anything yet regarding the next generation of Xbox 360 console since this current version is still alive and kickin’. However, the latest movie trailer – Real Steel has provided us a vivid clue that Microsoft is going to roll out their next gen of game console as Xbox 720. See the following picture for the details:

Apparently, The logo is still the same. It uses the old X logo and wording (font), and the only thing that changed is the number behind the XBOX. However, there is no information released by Microsoft regarding the 720 generation yet. It could be it’s just a mock up to tease people about the futuristic robot battle, which could be realized in when the Xbox 720 released, or it could be just for fun.

If you want to see the logo by yourself in the trailer, watch the following Real Steel Movie Trailer in Good quality (720p or above) so you can look at it vividly. The logo is on the minute 0:46:

However, although the news is true, it seems the hardware won’t make it in this Xmas Holiday 2011 because it’s been delayed to 2012.

The reason behind the delay is that the company haven’t finalize the product yet and it might took a little bit more time and that is why they can make it in this December 2011.

The Star Wars series of Xbox 360 is pretty cool. The Xbox 360 console is coming with the R2-D2 dressing, while the controller is C-3PO style. The kinect itself is coming in white style, like the color of Mac if I’m correct. There is also a wired headset, and you’ll get at copy of Kinect Star Wars with access to exclusive downloadable content, plus one copy of Kinect Adventures.

This Star Wars pack is going to cost $450 overall.

This information is coming directly from Sony, the creator of PlayStation Vita. According to them, PS Vita is going to get a downloadable games like what the PSP Go has ever go before (before their campaign failed miserably). Well, it seems they are going to test the market once again using the same downloadable game campaign on their new device to see how the market is reacting. Google Android and iOS have a quite successful result with their downloadable games, so it’s wise to test them out once again with a better hardware.

Sony Representative has promised that digital version of all game released for the platform is going to be available at the same time as the retail copies. It might sounds good for a sec, but we are wondering how Sony is going to set the price for both physical product and digital product. If there is no different in pricing, I doubt Sony would have a successful campaign.

Nintendo recently has redesigned their old Nintendo Wii console into something more compact at Gamescom. This new design is slightly better and it said to be cheaper than the previous design.

The reason is simply because the company have stripped some of the default capability, like you will not be able to play any Gamecube games in this machine anymore! Some of the portion made for GameCube controller and memory slots have been stripped away, and I believe by removing that feature alone, the console has done quite a weight-loss.

Sadly, even it’s announced to be a cheaper console, the company haven’t released any information on how cheap this new redesigned machine is. Hopefully, it will be on the $99 mark.

If you think it’s not the time for you to jump on the next gen Wii U for now, you can consider to have this new redesigned Wii if you haven’t got one.

I’ve certainly enjoying my PS3 when I’ve had my roam time, and I’d recommend you to get one if you wish to get healthy by staying at your room playing Sport Champions. Recently, Sony has slashed the price of their Sony PS3 again. Most models have been slashed, from the 160GB PS3 it’s now $249 (was $299), 320GB PS3 is now $299 and together with this event, Sony is selling the limited edition of inFAMOUS 2 bundles that you can pick it up for $299 only (320GB). This bundle comes with an original copy of inFAMOUS 2 and 30-days free membership to PlayStation Plus.

Obviously, you won’t be able to crack open this latest release as it’s been installed with the latest firmware. With just $249, now, I believe the worldwide sales record would be ruled by Sony PS3, kicking Xbox 360 down to the number 2.

I wonder this price cut is also indicating that PS4 is coming soon? There is a rumor heating up that Sony will tease us with their PS4 or the next generation of PlayStation Engine in the next year 2012. Also, I don’t think the price is going to drop any further with the PS2 still selling like hot cake below $99 mark. If you are going to buy, I think this is this right timing.

Sony has just announced the new PSP E-1000 at Gamescon today as one of the PSP that will only available in the Europe market. Sony PSP E-1000 is nothing but a budget version for the PSP, where the company have striped the WIFI connectivity away from the game handheld console.

Sony PSP E-1000 will cost 99 euro only, and along with this model, Sony will roll out a range of PSP Essential game titles that will cost about 9.99 Euro only. Sadly, with the WiFi connectivity striped, player won’t be able to access to the internet, playing multiplayer games, or download anything to the PSP E-1000. The gaming will be played directly through the traditional UMD disc, or to be transferred from PlayStation Store using Media Go on your computer.

I thought it will be better if it’s a PS Vita without WiFi because PSP is a common game console in the market that most people have already own it if they like portable games. Will this E-1000 version make its comeback? Or will it be a short live console that can’t last for a year? It’s interesting to see how the market will react.

Great news for those who haven’t got their Nintendo 3DS or are planning to get one. Nintendo 3DS has been heavily discounted by Nintendo, where you can save $80 on purchasing the new one. This early price drop should indicate that the console is not really popular amongst gamers, because the number of sales aren’t quite what Nintendo had hoped for. The company believe that if they slashed off the price lower, it may help to spring the sales further to reach their marketing goals.

Well, I’m not sure though. Of course, price might be the top most reason to turn a gamers down from purchasing one, but the 3D games are quite there yet and because of the 3D effects has some serious health issues (especially to eyes), lots of parents has started to look for a better gaming gadget for their kids.

Unless you are willing to turn off the 3D effects and willing to play the 3D games in 2D mode, Nintendo 3DS is still a great portable console that should be as popular as the NDS developed by the same company. NDS is the legend of the portable console, which the sales has never been beaten by anyone else. Hopefully, Nintendo 3DS would make it up that high, too, in the future.

Buy Nintendo 3DS for $169.99 at Amazon if you want one.

I’m pretty adopted to the name of NGP since the first release of news regarding the nextgen PSP. It’s first called PSP2, but later changed into NGP (NextGenPortable), and perhaps Sony feel something wrong with the name so they’ve change it again to PS Vita.

Yep, this time is the real official name that they have set in concrete. I do hope that Sony would come up with a better name because Vita is sounds like Vitamin or something supplementary. I do eat vitamin, but eating food properly is sufficient, anyway.

Well, back to the Vita. Sony PS Vita will be available in two models. Like a cell phone, PS Vita will come in WiFi-only and WiFi + 3G models. According to our source, AT&T will be getting a good deal for selling this new portable console that doubled as a 3G smartphone. However, the details of the deal is still sketchy at the moment. Will there any subsidize for the console? Is there any contract that you should sign up before getting the console?

You know, buying game console and need to sign up a contract is kind of discouraging. Unless you are going to get the WiFi-only model, it seems there is some sort of string attach to those who prefer to get the 3G model. As for the pricing, WIFI-only model is priced at $249.99 only, while the WiFi/3G model is $50 higher at $299.99 (unsubsidized). Let’s hope AT&T will have a good deal for it. If I can grab one for just $9.99 with two-year contract, I’ll sign up even it’s disturbing.

To continue their journey in game console market, Envizions, who previously have launched their EVO game console, has introduced us to their new EVO 2 game console. What this next gen console is offering has included an unspecified 1.2GHz Samsung Processor, wireless game controller, TV remote, and the company has also stated that they are going to add a motion sensor as well.

This Android game console is reported to be running a modified Android 2.2 OS and it’s currently available for free for developers. Yep, the hardware SDK is for free, but developers still have to subscribe to their software support for about $149 a year, which turned out not a ‘free’ stuff at all. But I believe developers will have no problem with the annual price if they are serious about developing games for this next gen Android game console.

As for the retail pricing for this console, the company has set it to $249 when it’s available later in this Fall season.

There is a rumor that Nintendo will be revealing some of the details in this year’s E3 expo on June 2011, and that is one of the event that we have been anticipated for.

Even on Nintendo’s side they haven’t revealed anything about Wii 2, Ubisoft the game developer, however, has spilled some of the facts that sounds pretty interesting. Through the mouth of Guillemot, we have come to know that Nintendo Wii 2 will be as powerful as, or more powerful than Xbox 360 and PS3 machine which allow them to reuse all their works on the former consoles on this Wii 2 without redoing completely from scratch.

Obviously, Nintendo Wii 2 is going to feature HD resolution that current Wii is lacked of. This is certainly a great news for those who’ve been a die-hard for everything Wii. Let’s hope the company will still keep the gamers in their foot instead of sitting on the couch when playing Wii 2.

We aren’t online that much with our PS3 so we have no serious problem with the PSN outages. But for some that can’t live without online gaming on their console, the number of people who’ve started to jump out of Sony PS3 bandwagon and jump into the Xbox 360 is increasing rapidly. Some stores even have seen a upward of 200% for in-store trade-in asking to trade their PS3 with Xbox 360 console. This a great news over what Microsoft is gaining, where the PSN downtime seems to be benefiting them indirectly.

There is also a store that has released an information telling that there is a significant shifts for upcoming games which available on both consoles. Gamers seems to be more into Xbox 360 version instead of PS3 version. The only downside from moving to Xbox 360 LIVE gaming is the paid subscription problem. Everyone knows that PS3 gamers has been the most lucky gamer in term of online interaction and gaming. However, it seems some gamers are willing to pay for that monthly subscription in order to let them continue their quest to play online.

Believe it or not, if you are owning this new 3D handheld console, there are secret Easter Eggs hidden nicely under the hood. No idea if it’s only available for US or entire distribution, you can actually find the easter eggs by following what 3DSfocus has done with their toy. There is a saying that Nintendo loves to hide something in their gadget and waiting to be found by the owner and it turn out to be true.

There are currently 7 Easter eggs found by 3DSFocus, but it could be more if Nintendo want to give something as a special treat for their fans. I’m especially love parakeet helpers that will mimic what user say. You can even teach them lesson if they’ve said something improper using your stylus.

I have seen lots of custom modification to turn a retro SNES console into a portable version, but haven’t really found one that is actually a real made-from-factory portable SNES game console yet. Luckily, if you are a SNES super fans, soon you will be able to get this SupaBoy from Hyperkin because they’ll launch first non-modded (by users) portable SNES console in this Summer.

The shape of SupaBoy is actually using the retro Super Nintendo Controller design. At the back side, you can slide in a Super Famicom cartrdige and the fun begin after you’ve hit the ON button. There is a 3.5-inch screen, two-axis directional pad, Y/X/A/B buttons, LR button, as well as two port for connecting external controller.

SupaBoy has built-in battery that you can use it for about 5 hours of gaming, and if you are looking to play your game on a larger display, there is an AV connection at the rear side that you can plug it into your TV.

SupaBoy portable pocket SNES console is going to cost $79.99 when it has been available.
