The keyboard itself is pretty clean and straight forward. It has a white color base with clear black alphabets imprinted. It’s coming complete with a FN (function) key to switch between mode, and there is a touch pad mouse too with left click and right click function (combine with function key).

This Evergreen Bluetooth Keyboard is also known as DK-9201BT if you want to be techie, but you can only get them in Japan for the moment. One drawback it has is the mouse operation is not available for both iPhone and iPad. It’s just for typing if you are planning to pair it with your iOS device.

Evergreen Bluetooth keyboard is powered by two AAA batteries and it could be shut off when not in use using the rear on/off slider. Price wise, Evergreen DK-9201BT bluetooth keyboard is avialable for 4,999 Yen or about $51 USD.

A lot of cool gadgets have appeared in Kickstarter recently that could enhanced our lifestyle. The recent project that we found is the cool idea of transparent touch keyboard and mouse that looks so futuristic and modern. It looks like the no key keyboard from 2008, but the different is that this transparent keyboard is no longer a concept. The creator is trying to raise fund via Kickstarter to support their project, and great news is that they have achieved their goals of $50,000 fund raising.

This transparent keyboard has no special name yet, but it will be given one soon. For now, the creator call it as multi-touch keyboard and mouse.

This Multi-touch keyboard and mouse is using a special technology called Frustated Total Internal Reflection (FTIR) Technology. This technology has an embedded camera beneath the transparent board. To be more details, let’s see what the creator has to say:

There are basically infrared LEDs placed at the edge of the glass. In this case, they are hidden inside holes where the glass is mounted to the metal base. Because of the low angle at which the light impacts the internal glass surface, it is bounced around inside the glass, much like looking through a tube to see the reflections on the inside walls. When the glass is touched it frustrates the reflection and the IR light is diffused downward, out of the glass, allowing the camera to see it. Software then determines the location and sends the appropriate information to your computer.

Looks like a sophisticated technology it has there!

However, as a user, you really don’t have to care that much about what’s happening under the hood (unless you are a geek). What you really need to know is how this keyboard could help you get your job done. The transparent keyboard design is rather curved to the front side, with the touch board floating in the space bridge by the light pipes at the lower side.

Looks pretty fragile in my opinion, unless the bridge is sturdy enough to hold the transparent glass while weighted with our hands. Well, if you are interested, you can support this project at Kickstarter. Those who pledge $150 will get the keyboard and mouse and it will be delivered in April 2012.

Since it still have no official name yet, you can also pledge $10 to suggest your our idea. If you are idea is picked as the winner, you’ll get the keyboard set as well!

Microsoft Japan is going to roll out their new Bluetooth Keyboard called Microsoft Bluetooth Mobile Keyboard 5000 later in next month in Japan. This keyboard has been tipped last year, but it will make its appearance soon in Japanese market as one of the thin wireless keyboard with comfort curve design. I’m in love with comfort curve design as it provides a natural finger and wrist position for us so we can type conveniently, even in long hours typing sessions. This Bluetooth Mobile Keyboard 5000 is definitely a great choice for them who dislike cable hassle, all you have to do is to provide 2 AAA batteries for the keyboard and the expected operation duration is about 5 months or so. Not too shabby, although it’s not as cool as Logitech K750 wireless solar keyboard, the battery life is definitely longer.

This 13mm thick wireless bluetooth keyboard is said to be on sale in Japanese market on December 16th for the equivalent price of US$64 (4,935 Yen). No idea when it will hit the US Shores.

QPAD, a Sweden-based game peripheral maker is rolling out a new gaming keyboard called MK-85. QPAD claimed that MK-85 gaming keyboard is the world’s first mechanical keyboard that provides full N-key roll over via USB. full N-key rollover is the term for a keyboard that could detect any arbitrary combination of key presses on the keyboard, which is good for multiple magic casting on online games.

Also, even QPAD MK-85 is a mechanical keyboard, it has featured a Cherry MX Red key switches that gives no tactile or audible feedback when typing. To spice it up, QPAD has also thrown in an individual red LED backlights for each of the keys, has built-in USB hub, audio and headphone ports, as well as few programmable keys.

QPAD MK-85 gaming keyboard has been priced for €149.90 (or equal to $200.50) in December 2011. No idea when will hit the USA.

Green House, the company from Japanese has rolled out their latest unique keyboard called GH-USB-KY10 multifunction keyboard. This keyboard has a unique curve out design (but not the ergonomic type like Microsoft Comfort Curve 3000) which they call it Arch-shaped keyboard design. The feature that make this keyboard interesting is slide-out numpad. There is some sort of hidden drawer like a DVDrom drive on your laptop that you can slide out to find the numpad, and slide in again when not in use. it will save some space and if your desk are cramped with papers and documents, you’ll feel grateful to have this type of numpad.

Other features that you may like are the 10-hotkeys above the keyboard and the scroll button for instant zoom. It looks like a nice keyboard, and it only cost US$26 (equivalent price of 1,980 Yen) to get one. However, it’s sad because only those in Japan can get it at the moment…

Thinkgeek has an interesting virtual keyboard for iPad. It’s a small device/projector that will projects red light onto a flat surface where you can interact with the projection. We have seen this technology for quite awhile for desktop system, but now it’s turn for tablet device to get this accessories. Well, I supposed it’s useful as typing on the flat tablet screen with small QWERTY interface is difficult for some. At least, using this kind of Cube Laser Virtual keyboard will be easier.

This virtual keyboard will projects out all the form and function of a normal keyboard (minus the keypad). Cube Laser Virtual keyboard even let you turn the interface into mouse mode so you can interact with your fingers-only. But sorry, it seems there is no multi-touch functionality in this mode (or we could be wronged), but it has an impressive detection rate of up to 400 characters per minute.

Even though the above image is showing that the keyboard is used on an iPad, it’s actually compatible with many devices. That’s included Android devices, Windows 7 Phones, Windows OS and Mac OS.

Here is the details of the specs of Cube Laser Virtual Keyboard:

Product Features

Projects a full-size laser keyboard onto any flat surface

Allows the convenience of full-size typing in a tiny form factor

Connects wirelessly via bluetooth to iPhone, iPad, many Smartphones and most Laptops

Mouse mode allows you to use your finger as a mouse rather than typing when using with a laptop.

Rechargeable battery lasts for 150 minutes of continuous typing

Charges via USB. No drivers to install

Product Specifications

Keyboard Layout: 19mm sized QWERTY layout

Detection rate: Up to 400 characters per minute

Operating Surface: Most flat opaque surfaces

Battery duration: Approximately 150 minutes, 700mAh built-in rechargeable battery

In the performance fact, I can say that Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is better than iPad 2. However, as far as the popularity, iPad 2 is still far ahead of its competition, where it has attracted a lot of accessories makers to create something cool for it.

The best accessory for iPad that I’ve come to love is the keyboard case. There are a lot of keyboard cases designed just for iPad, and it could immediately turn the iPad into something like a netbook. However, we haven’t seen one for Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. Luckily, Logitech has stepped out and be the first company to support Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 as one of their reliable third party accessories maker. Logitech introduced us to their Keyboard case with precision cut for Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1.

Aside from the precision-cut, this keyboard case is also similar to the iPad 2 version, it made with aircraft-grade aluminum material for the exterior, while the interior is padded with high-density foam that avoid the Galaxy Tab 10.1 from contacting the sharp part from the keyboard.

This keyboard case also coming with a slot that is capable of holding the Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet in both landscape and portrait mode. Logitech Keyboard case for Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is going to cost you $99 if you want one now.

If you have been looking to buy the flat face keyboard that has no keys at all – a.k.a. the Minebea Cool Leaf USB keyboard, then you can now get it for $410 at Japan Trend Shop.

We have reported about this keyboard in the last few months, and I’m kind of intrigued with its appearance. It has no physical buttons to push, only a flat face with illuminated alphabets where you can touch and interact with. In short, you can say it’s a virtual version of a keyboard – with no keys at all.

The benefits of Minebea Cool Leaf USB keyboard is the waterproof surface, no matter what liquid you splash on it, coffee, water, or juice, you can easily wipe it out with tissue or handkerchief.

The Cool Leaf features:

CLKB010001 USB keyboard

OS: Windows 7 / Vista / XP

Size: 383 x 128 x 17mm (15 x 5 x 0.67″)

Weight: 620g (21.9 oz)

Keys: 108

Up to 5-key multi-touch function

Includes cleaning cloth, USB cable, User’s Guide (English, French, German, Italian)

It looks interesting, you can mirror yourself when it’s off, but typing 10-fingers mode sounds impossible for this setting. And, the noise is kind of annoying. Better they’ve thought or designed a setting where user can turn it off at will.

There are a lot of accessory makers have done this marketing move, but none of them is as cool as this Aluminum Keyboard Buddy case for iPad 2. The keyboard is pretty thin, after installing the iPad 2 into the port, I can say it’s even thinner than Macbook Air. The good thing is, this ALuminium keyboard buddy case is costing just below $20, it’s even cheaper than Apple’s official wireless keyboard at $50.

Of course, I can’t state anything on the quality as I haven’t had the chance to test it out yet. However, at $20, it’s definite a steel and you’ll also add the Macbook Air feeling to your iPad as if you have the hybrid system of them both.
