This type of concept is a long waited one for guys like me. I have no idea how many battery I’ve replaced for my wireless mouse as I’ve used it quite a lot for work and play. It’s both expensive if you think it carefully when comparing to a casual wired mouse, and not really-earth friendly as battery is a dangerous stuff for the Mother Earth, too!

With this concept – the Leaf Wireless Kinetic Mouse, I can both save money and safe the earth from hazardous stuffs like an alkaline battery. The concept is stating that the Leaf Wireless Kinetic Mouse is capable of self-powering by collecting energy from the movement made by users. There is a triangle design with three roller balls that will move as we move the mouse around, which then convert mechanical energy into electrical energy.

The concept promises that user will never have to replace the battery again if they are using Leaf Wireless Kinetic mouse. It sounds pretty cool for me, but no really understand how the triangle self-powered system will work in real life.

I’m sincerely hope that such kind of mouse will be produce soon (or ASAP) because it’s not only good for the environment, it also enhanced the quality of the users. The mouse is not only eco-friendly and green, but it’s also very modern, futuristic and slimy. If it’s released next year (let’s hope so) for $100, I’m the first to grab it for sure.

The new toys are X4000 and X5000, the chic looking wireless mouse with touch scroll (X5000) and wheel scroll (X4000). They are designed for both lefties and righties so no discrimination for both user type.

HP X4000 and X5000 are sporting 2.4GHz wireless frequency with 30-foot wireless range, and amazing 30 months battery life for X4000. The only difference in on the scroll that I’ve mentioned just now.

Check out the following teaser movie for both of these wireless mouse. It looks pretty cool like two sporty cars are racing each other thrusting through some balls of light. HP really know how to make their promo video:

A lot of cool gadgets have appeared in Kickstarter recently that could enhanced our lifestyle. The recent project that we found is the cool idea of transparent touch keyboard and mouse that looks so futuristic and modern. It looks like the no key keyboard from 2008, but the different is that this transparent keyboard is no longer a concept. The creator is trying to raise fund via Kickstarter to support their project, and great news is that they have achieved their goals of $50,000 fund raising.

This transparent keyboard has no special name yet, but it will be given one soon. For now, the creator call it as multi-touch keyboard and mouse.

This Multi-touch keyboard and mouse is using a special technology called Frustated Total Internal Reflection (FTIR) Technology. This technology has an embedded camera beneath the transparent board. To be more details, let’s see what the creator has to say:

There are basically infrared LEDs placed at the edge of the glass. In this case, they are hidden inside holes where the glass is mounted to the metal base. Because of the low angle at which the light impacts the internal glass surface, it is bounced around inside the glass, much like looking through a tube to see the reflections on the inside walls. When the glass is touched it frustrates the reflection and the IR light is diffused downward, out of the glass, allowing the camera to see it. Software then determines the location and sends the appropriate information to your computer.

Looks like a sophisticated technology it has there!

However, as a user, you really don’t have to care that much about what’s happening under the hood (unless you are a geek). What you really need to know is how this keyboard could help you get your job done. The transparent keyboard design is rather curved to the front side, with the touch board floating in the space bridge by the light pipes at the lower side.

Looks pretty fragile in my opinion, unless the bridge is sturdy enough to hold the transparent glass while weighted with our hands. Well, if you are interested, you can support this project at Kickstarter. Those who pledge $150 will get the keyboard and mouse and it will be delivered in April 2012.

Since it still have no official name yet, you can also pledge $10 to suggest your our idea. If you are idea is picked as the winner, you’ll get the keyboard set as well!

This wireless mouse is powered by two AAA batteries, has 5-buttons, works with 2.4GHz wireless technology using a mini dongle, has 1000/2000dpi resolutiion (switchable via button). What’s interesting is the feature to detect our hand and turn the mouse on/off accordingly.

For example, once the mouse body is touched, the system will turn it on. When we move our hand away, Buffalo BSMBWE07 wireless mouse will immediately switch itself off to conserve battery power.

This BSMBWE07 wireless mouse is stated to be on sale in the late November for 3,300 Yen (about $43) in Japan.

This is the first time I hear about a wireless mouse without the need of a battery to work. Genius recently introduced their Battery-Free eco-friendly wireless mouse called DX Eco. This DX Eco Battery-Free BlueEye mouse is using some kind of built-in gold capacitor to power up the entire mouse, and the beauty of this capacitor is that it can be quicky recharged in 3 minutes for about 100,000 times until it wear off.

DX Eco Eco-friendly battery-free blueEye mouse is featuring 1,600 DPI optical sensor, using 2.4GH wireless technology, with up to 15 meters of wireless range. It also has a special flying scroll wheel, hot keys and rubber insert. Sadly, we have no idea on how long that 3-minute recharge could last, it could be just a few hours or longest at a few days. But it’s a nice idea that we don’t have to wait to long for recharging, and no need to buy battery for it.

The Genius DX Eco wireless battery-free mouse is priced at 45 Euro ($61.77), but we have no idea when it will hit the US shores.

I see crystal diamond shape on this new Laser mouse design from Elecom, but I’ve also foretold the misery of the users. Elecom latest nendo product is this nendo Orime wireless laser mouse. I looks like a well-cut crystal shape, rugged, sturdy-looking and… too sharp for our hand to handle.

Notice the sharp thorny design around the palm rest? I don’t think I’ll comfortable with it for long period of usage. Of course, if you are just going to browse for checking emails, facebook updates or read the online news for a couple of minutes, that wouldn’t be a problem at all.

But I don’t want to blame the designer for his great job. It did represent a lot on something expensive like a diamond after all. Anyway, Elecom nendo Orime wireless laser mouse is using the usual 2.4GHz wireless technology that would work well in the range of 10 meters, it’s powered by 2 AAA batteries, weighing in 85grams and it’s compatible with Windows 7, Vista, XP and Mac OS X. No idea with the sensitivity (DPI) value though…

Elecom nendo Orime wireless laser mouse is available right now for $90 at JapanTrendShop.

This Scoop Pointer In-Air Mouse is the second generation of in-air mouse from Hillcrest Labs. If you remember, their first one is the loop pointer in-air mouse that looks like a big ring. I can definitely see a great improvement on their second generation as it’s more compact, like a TV remote, and nice for any hand size.

Scoop pointer In-Air mouse is featuring 6-axis motion control, with 3-axis digital gyroscope, 3 -axis digital accelerometer and optional 3-axis magnetometer to provide a better gesture performance and calibrated motion data across variety of applications.

Scoop pointer will be a replacement to the existing loop pointer in-air mouse as this second generation in-air mouse is much smaller, lighter, has new chipsets, and lower costs of production. It also mean that consumer will spend less to get one of this Scoop pointer in-air mouse.

Sadly, there is no pricing mention yet in the press release as this OEM product is going straight to other companies who need a complete off-the-self device for their market. Guess you’ll have to wait until it’s been branded before you can get it in the market.

Logitech has unveiled their first wireless mouse for tablet PC. In fact, the mouse is just a normal bluetooth mouse that works flawlessly on most surfaces, except those made of glass or mirrors. This Logitech Tablet Mouse can work well in the range of 30 feet, or equal to 10 meters. The wireless mouse itself is powered by 2 x AA batteries and it’s coming with a dedicated travel case. As far as the weight, we have no idea on the details. But judging from our past experience, a wireless mouse with two AA batteries is kind of heavy, way heavier than those with one AAA battery.

However, the benefits of a heavy mouse is that you can grip it firmly, it’s big and your palm can rest properly on the back of the mouse.

This Logitech Tablet Mouse has three buttons and running smooth with laser sensor. Well, if you haven’t equip yourself with a mouse for your tablet, this $49.99 wireless mouse will be a great choice.

Elecom together with Oki Sata have released the x nendo Kasane series of wireless mouse. This series is quite intriguing as it has an unique design, where it’s ‘as if’ a mess of papers on the desk.

This x nendo Kasane wireless mouse have 5 buttons, three at the front and two at the side where your thumb can easily reach it. Obviously, this Elecom x nendo Kasane Wireless mouse is designed for the righty. Lefty users should look somewhere else.

This wireless mouse is indeed unique. Love the way the designer place the palm rest. However, it might invite to keep a lot of dust and dirt. As for the compatibility, Elecom x nendo KASANE is compatible with Microsoft 7, Vista, and XP, as well as Mac OS from 10.5 to 10.6.7.

If you have been collecting bunch of 8-pixel gadgets, this PC Mouse is something that you don’t want to miss. Perpetual Kids recently has introduced their new unique gadget called “USB Pixel PC Mouse” which is taking the shape of the usual 8-bit pixel pointer hand found in your PC.

The design is quite bold with strong border around the mouse. But luckily, the mouse surface is smooth, a little bit emboss to support the palm, and there is a right click and left click too! The straight forefinger is the left button, and the three fingers at the right of forefinger are the right button. It’s quite unique and I can say that right button is pretty convenient to click at as it has a wide surface.

This USB Pixel PC mouse is available now for $19.99, if you are interested you can get it now at Perpetual Kid.

Well, I’m imagine something funny here. But it’s true that it’s kind of wired why people name it “Mouse” anyway.

If you happen to teach kids to recognize their computer on the first time, this type of wireless mouse from Elecom might be pretty helpful.

These cute mouse from Elecom is designed by Oki Sato, which also known as Nendo from Tokyo. His creativity is really remarkable. I really love how the tail is end up being the cute transmitter that people should plug into the laptop USB port in order to work. Not only the mouse is cute, the laptop is now having a tail, too!

Elecom Nendo OppoPet is using 2.4GHz wireless mouse technology that will work like charm within the range of 10 meters (when battery is full), it comes with three buttons and on color matching (with the tail) scroll wheel.

One AAA battery will worth 69 hours of playtime, or about 75 days of standby time. If you are interested, these Elecom Nendo Oppopet wireless mouse is available in eight models: Pig, Fox, dog, whale, cat, squirrel, charmeleon and rabbit.

Kensington, the London-based accessories and PC peripherals maker has introduced a new wireless mouse called Orbit. Unlike their previous trackball mice, this Orbit trackball is the one that has the most similarity as an ordinary mouse. Most of their collections are either square shaped, flat, or even triangle shaped. Kensington Orbit is normal looking like a casual wireless mouse, except the big red trackball sticking in the top side.

Trackball mouse is very convenient as you don’t have to move your wrist to highlight something with the cursor. Just play with the ball with the fingers and you are good to go. As the part of balancing, Kensington Orbit wireless mobile trackball mouse is friendly to both lefty and righty user. Connection wise, Kensington Orbit is using 2.4GHz wireless technology and there is nano USB dongle that could be store in the trackball itself.

Just like any other trackball, Kensington Orbit won’t cost hundreds to get one. According to the source, this trackball is available soon for $59.99 through Kensington store.
