Love camping in the wild? Here is a new handy gadget that you might want to check it out. It’s called the BioLite CampStove, a portable stove that come with an unique heat-activated charging solution that you can use it for either lighting up your surrounding with USB LED light or charging your smartphone.

“Open wood fires are inefficient, wasting potential energy and creating toxic smoke due to incomplete combustion. Carefully designed stoves that use fans to blow air into the fire can dramatically improve combustion. However, such stoves require small amounts of electricity to power their fans and most people who cook on wood are without grid or battery access.

BioLite stoves solve this problem by converting a fraction of the fire’s thermal energy into electricity to power our combustion improvement system. Excess electricity is made available to users for charging small electronic devices such as mobile phones, LED lights, GPS and many others.”

BioLite Stove require no fuel at all but twigs that you can find it on the road or beneath the trees. Because it can charge your gadgets, you can also boil water, cook egg, noodles or anything else by using the fire on top of the BioLite. It also capable of burns pine cones, pellets and other biomass if no twigs available.

Here is the photo taken from the official site:

The price for this BioLite CampStove is $129, coming in this Camping season. But you can reserve it now if you are interested.

Amazon begins shipping out their Kindle Touch edition internationally starting this February. As you may have known from the start, Kindle Touch is the only and cheapest ebook reader offered by Amazon at the $99, and it’s coming with a 6-inch multi-touch screen for navigation instead of hard buttons on the bezel. What’s Amazon has offered to the International market is the ability to download ebooks from Amazon in less than 60 seconds, and the device will be able to store up to 3,000 ebooks.

As far as how many country Amazon could reach with their Kindle Touch, I’ve seen that some of the country in South East Asia is not capable of getting this ebook because their service is not available yet.

So the context “international” is not really suitable yet. It would be great if the device could be used anywhere in the world, as long as an WIFI connection is available. But It seems Amazon haven’t yet to really “release” their device for the worldwide market.

Anyway, if you wish to own Kindle Touch International Edition, you should use this Amazon page to check on your country. If it’s unavailable, they will tell you.

Check out this interesting tablet stand called Octa WhaleTail + Vacuum Dock. It’s a two-part tablet stand – the cute WhaleTail and a Vacuum Dock.

I’ve no idea why it has to be a tail of whale, but the design is pretty interesting when you put it on your desk. The Octa WhaleTail will docked into the Vacuum dock, while the vacuum dock has an integrated vacuum suction that could let it stick to almost any tablet’s rearplate tightly.

The vacuum dock itself is measuring at 3.95 x 3.95 x 5.9-inch, which is friendly even for a small tablet. Not limited by those two mode, you can even use it to gain a lower angle for typing ergonomic or adjust the optimal position as you like.

The tablet stand could be used on both portrait and landscape position by rotating the whale tail. Thanks to the tail, it has also added some grip when you are holding your tablet.

You can checkout the details of this Octa WhaleTail + Vacuum Dock tablet stand at Octa if you are interested to know more.

This device has really chance the way we interact with games or applications, and perhaps it will be the key to decrease the obesity rate in the States. We have heard that Microsoft has tested the firmware for PC so PC user can also have fun with it, but haven’t really see any improvement and which application has uses this feature.

Now, we have got a further information that Microsoft is eyeing to integrate Kinect with future laptops. According to TheDaily, there is prototype (an unidentified netbook) of the integration of netbook and kinect, but there is no further details on this matter.

Microsoft has confirmed that they are currently working on the desktop version of Kinect. The question is, when will Microsoft officially released this PC-friendly kinect? Will it be a firmware update alone or there will be an entire new Kinect made just for PC user? No matter which one, keyboard and mouse will never be alone anymore in the future.

Over at Kickstarter, an interesting capacitive pen has been created again. After LunaTik Stylus Touch Pen, here come the Jaja Stylus Pen for iPad that user can actually put pressure on their drawing!

Jaja Pressure Stylus pen is invented by a smart Australian John Atherton. His Jaja stylus pen is really stand out, not because of the design, but because of the feature that looks intriguing for tablet users.

Beside you can view where the tip of the pen land on the screen, you can easily enhance the drawing using the pressure sensitive tip, and there are two practical buttons built-in on the pen that you can summon instant menu to the screen.

Check out the following video for more details:

With the ii system the jaja stylus can communicate the pressure that a user pushes on the screen, it can effectively communicate “mouse” clicks to select menus, and it can simply change brushes, colors, fonts or tools all without needing to move far from the drawing space.

If you love this stylus pen, you can support John via his Kickstarter page by pledge some of your unused money.

There are a lot of wristband accessory made for iPod Nano 6G or 7G, but I haven’t found one that is so minimalist like this one from Curve Creative.

This is the NANOLET, the minimalist Nano Wristband for iPod Nano 6G/7G. It’s a 3D printed Nano Bracelet that if you have your own 3D printer, you can also create the same thing from the design above (but won’t as sturdy as the real one).

Unlike any other watch band, this NANOLET is actually very easy to use. Just snap the iPod Nano into the socket, wrap it around your wrist and it’s good to go. No need to decide which hole to use, or even resizing the length of the band.

But sadly, NANOLET is suitable for medium sized wrists only. Bigger size of wrist might have a trouble and probably will block the blood flows around their wrist.

If you are interested, you can get it at Shapeways for $21.31 to $21.52.

Water is always the best enemy to any electronic device ever created. Even the most popular gadget such as iPhone or iPad is their best food to crunch. However, the situation will be switching 180-degree in few years later as HzO is going to released their new thin film nano-coating system called Waterblock technology to provide waterproof protection to any electronic devices.

Which mean in the future, if you found your phone dropped into the pool or bathtub, it won’t be rendered as useless because HzO waterblock technology will block any liquid from entering the critical part of the phone.

According to HzO, their thin film nano-coating is clear and near invisible, which make sure it won’t have any effect or disturbance to the phone/device design and structure.

What’s amazing is that, HzO waterblock technology will be implemented directly from the Manufacturer, so you don’t really know what’s in there when you purchase your new shiny gadget. All you’ll know is that the device is waterproof up to a certain depth.

The only downside is that, since it’s a new technology, you won’t be getting them any sooner. It might takes years before you can get some sort of waterproof tablet or smartphones that come by default, unless it’s a special edition.

This is a new iPad 2 stand designed by Tonerico Inc. Calm Trees S iPad stand is made with “one hundred thousand and four cypress” according to the translation, which sounds like something incredible (but I’m not really sure about it).

The stand will allow iPad 2 to stand at 73-degree and 69-degree, horizontally only. You will not want to put it on portrait mode as it might crack your iPad’s edge screen.

Also, it could be used on an iPhone 4 with case which it could stand on 75-degree viewing angle.

Although it’s not described on the page, it seems every piece of the stand is unique with different shape and dimension.

Do you remember the TikTok and Lunatik iPod Nano watch band? Scott Wilson, the creator has come up with another amazing kickstarter project that worth the full attention for tablet users.

The project is all about an unique stylus pen that could double as a pen. Even better, switching between two modes is only just a click away!

Scot Wilson introduced us to their Multi function stylus pen called LunaTik Touch Pen.

From it’s look, it’s a normal pen with a rather dull pen tip rubber cover. In fact, that rubber is the digital stylus pen!

Click once to reveal the tip of the pen for writing like usual, another click will retract the pen and expose the capacitive rubber stylus that you can use it on iPad or tablets. You can safely use the stylus as the pen has been properly retracted into the ‘shell’ that it won’t scratch the surface your your valuable tablet.

This stuff is cool. I can’t resist it and I’ve pledge in his project. Depending on the amount of your pledge or support, you can get a different package of LunaTik Touch pen. The minimum pledge of $30 will give you two plastic LunaTIk Touch Pen in Pitch Black and Arctic White color, or substitute it with one LunaTik Alloy touchpen with silver anodized aluminum body.

Innergie Magic Cable Trio is especially great for traveler who’ve got themselves with iPHone/iPad and some devices with either MiniUSB and MicroUSB. The reason is because you’ll get three type of connectors from single cord, which save a lot of trouble bringing separated adapter for recharging. The cord is coming with some kind of socket where the connector could fit in. The base connector is a mini USB connector, the second one is microUSB, and the last one is Apple 30-pin.

Now all you have to do is to bring with you a wall adapter that has USB port. We have seen many this type of USB adapter for recharging, so it won’t be hard for you to find one in the store.

Innergie Magic Cable Trio is only $20 a pop. Remember, each cable can only charge one gadget at a time. So consider getting two or three of them if you are not sure how many gadget you’ll bring along with your travel.

Made popular by Nook and Kindle, colorful ebook reader trend is at its highest right now. We have seen how cool a Kindle Fire is, but that device is no longer the coolest guy in the block. A lot of alternative have been provided, such as Nook with their Nook color, and this color e-reader Jetbook from Ectaco.

This is the new color ebook reader Jetbook that has an excellent dictionary installed inside, including some educational software for student. According to the specs, there are 38 languages dictionary, cross translator for 180 language, vocabulary builder, scientific calculator, periodic table, and more stuffs that you can eat as a student or even for the passionate learner.

On the specification side, This Jetbook Color e-Reader is coming with a slow 800Mhz Freescale processor, big 9.7-inch display with 1600 x 1200px resolution, a rechargeable battery with up to 10,000 page turns on a single charge, capable of connecting to WiFi network and support up to 32GB of microSD card.

For a student, this Jetbook is like a God sent, however, the price is not as friendly as it look. Jetbook is going to cost you $499.95, which make me “woops” all the way. Will such price ever survive the hard war? It’s interesting to see how’s their sales record next year. Oh, this tablet is going to hit the market on next year January 15th, 2012.
