Have you ever thought that the useless cardboard or paper boxes stored in the warehouse that you want to throw away could be any use at all beside becoming junks?

Well, you can actually use them as a “power plant” in the future because Sony has found a way to pull power out of the paper substrate. They are creating some kind of bio battery using some a special enzyme called “Cellulase” that could be used to devour the paper and produce glucose, while the glucose is used to produce power to generate electricity.

The callulase enzyme was invented by Denmark based Novozymes. The enzyme is acting like a catalyst and it could be reused several times before it can be thrown away. Based on the fact list generated with the research, this type of paper-powered BIO battery could generate up to 18Wh of electricity, which is equal to sum of power found on six AA batteries.

Sony haven’t release the full details of the product that they are going to use this bio-technology. However, they’ve demonstrated on Eco-Products 2011 that this bio battery could be used on Christmas card using a sheet-like bio battery.

Imagine that we can use all of our shredded papers as a mini power plant for our laptop, that would be wonderful as no more paper will be wasted for nothing.

If you are going to the cos-play party, this Stormtrooper Motorcycle armor is definitely going to be the best outfit for you. Not only they are cool to wear, they are made with the best grade-A cowhide material, full dressing from top to bottom, including the super cool helmet for driving motorcycle.

Here are the features of this Stormtrooper motorcycle armor suit:

Incredible attention to detail, featuring form molded details like never before.

Raised rib detailing on the sleeves, shoulders, legs, torso and midsection perfectly replicating the look of rigid armor.

Adjustable forearms, biceps, thighs and shin leather armor allow for a personalized ‘custom’ body fit.

Waist belt is part of the jacket and not removable. Cleverly hidden is the main front zipper which has 3 main access points providing function, while allowing the main torso armor to be uncompromised and true to what was seen on screen.

Snap buttons on the cuffs and wrist zippers.

Jacket and Pants zip together at the waist essentially converting this to a one-piece body suit.

Removable quilted cotton lining.

CE-approved body armor in the shoulders, forearms/elbow, back spine protector, thighs and knee/shin armor is standard for riders but is easily removed for day-to-day wear.

It sure looks like a nice piece of body armor for Star Wars fans, but I’m not really sure if the wearer will feel comfortable at all, especially when riding a motorcycle under the fierce sun shine.

Though it wouldn’t be a problem if you are just going to wear it to a cosplay party. This cool armor suit is going to cost you $1,144 to own one. Care to get one? Go to UD Replicas for more details.

Toyota recently has unveiled an interesting concept car called Fun-Vii at the 42nd Tokyo Motor Show 2011 in Japan. This Fun-Vii concept car is all about the futuristic and high-tech exterior surface that could be used an external display for either displaying images of their choice, or even displaying ads along the way to the destination.

Other than the exterior, we can also tweak how the interior look and feel to our liking by switching the images and color based on our mood. Even better, the interior display could be used as a kind of high-tech GPS navigation information that could guide the rider to their destination using both visual indicator or audio guidance.

Of course, since this Toyotoa Fun-Vii is a high-tech futuristic car, TMC (Toyota Motor Corporation) has thrown in some amazing features in to this car. Such as you will be able to browse the web finding information without the need of a PC, do social networking on the go or even the capability of linking to the same Fun-Vii cars in the surrounding for mobile communication.

This Toyota Fun Vii concept car is going to be shown off tomorrow in Tokyo Big Sight in Koto Ward from November 30th to December 11th, 2011.

Definitely, such kind of concept is just a concept at the moment. Toyota haven’t tip us about the pricing and availability yet, as well as the detail specification of the car. Hopefully, this car is an electric car with amazing mile per charge battery capacity.

Steve Jobs has really created the i-centric trends in the world, and even he has died peacefully, the i-crazy idea still keep popping out. Recently, we found out something that is quite a joke in China. They call it the “iShampo”, which is a shampoo and conditioner brand from some unknown company in China.

This iShampo is definitely not a product by Apple, so if you by chance to visit China and find out about this product, you can buy it for fun. But don’t think it could make your head become as charismatic and smart as Steve Jobs’ head after shampooing!

This is definitely a fun prank pulled by Chinese manufacturer, but somehow they’ve used Apple’s logo illegally(?). Well, if you are interested, you can actually get this 800ml iShampo in Taobao online for 49.9 yuan or equal to $7.85. Hopefully it would smell like apple.

Do you watch the G-Force – hamsters secret agents? If you have ever watched it, then you’ll know a small fly character that looks so high tech, yet very small and almost invisible to the enemy. Well, we were looking at the “impossible” stuff that most likely will never exist since the ordinary fly is not smart enough to obey to some one. However, the current military gadget development has really developed something like this, electronically.

According to the report, researchers has created a super tiny spying tool known as the dragonfly aircraft, which is about 1/5 of your index finger size, and a wide wings that is so identical to a dragonfly’s wings.

This unmanned dragonfly aircraft was created at the Micro-Aviary at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base for military spying purpose. Even it’s small, it’s been equipped with super-sensitive motion capture sensor, super tiny motor and two insect-like wings. You can watch the following video for the introduction:

Sadly, no more details offered for this dragonfly aircraft. It would be interesting to see how it work and how far it could fly. Could it possibly to fly to enemy’s camp, collect data, and fly back to the HQ to reporting in is still a big question mark.

Well, you can really hunt a lot of cool and geeky stuffs at Etsy if you are a geek (a wealthy geek) because of their creativity is just never end.

This Royal Data Throne is created by a merchant called PCB Creations, where they have a vast collection of gadget made with recycled PCB board. This data toilet is actually a miniature instead of real one that you can sit on. I’m not really feel comfortable to sit on it too. Anyway, this data toilet is just 12-inch x 5 inch, small enough for desk decoration, but never think that it could hold your poo or pee.

If you want to own it, you can head to Etsy right now to get it for $500. What a brilliant method to turn trash into gold.

Steve Jobs’ death has really left a big impact to the world. It’s another legend that has passed away, and we are still wonder if the current replacement can continue Steve’s “Jobs” or not. But we can’t do nothing as someone pass away. All that fans could do is like Olivier Lefebvre, making up something to remember him, and let the world’s know how he loved Steve Jobs and his work.

Good jobs, Mr. Olivier!

With us getting closer to the end of the world according to Mayan’s calendar, a lot of researchers in the world are aiming to create a shelter system for individual people so they can at least survive from some disasters and if they are lucky, they can actually live on after the disaster has passed.

Well, we are not sure what kind of future we are facing right now, but we mankind can’t lose hope even it’s for a second. The Japan’s researchers at New Cosmopower has built the so called Noah capsule, which is a floating capsule for saving people from strong earthquake or tsunami. The capsule itself has a strong exterior design using fiberglass material, while the inner space is large enough to fit in four adults.

In case the predicted “the end of the world” on 2012 is just about Earthquake and tsunami, then this Noah Capsule will be useful to avoid the incidents.

According to the researchers, this Noah Capsule is both water resistant and fire resistant, but they didn’t mention what is the limit that the capsule can withstand.

There are air ventilation somewhere, porthole window and the bright yellow dressing is for easy recognition when floating in the water. I’m curious about how four people could fit into the capsule space, and wondering what will happen when landslide is hitting this Noah capsule. Can they breath normally if it’s covered by mud? Can they self-rescue in that situation? If the answer is a big YES, i can say that Noah Capsule will be a hot selling item when it’s been properly developed.

He called it the “Paint Brush Coat Hooks”, as he has re-purposed a real paint brush into a coat hook by hardening the brush tip. This is certainly a great idea as we often found our brush got hardened if we forgot the wash te paint out of the brush completely.

By using this idea, Dominic Wilcox has turn it into a nice and unique looking coat hooks (or anything you want to hook on like shirt, jeans, or even other things like big canvas or else).

He admitted that he has gone through a bit of trials and errors before he made up this coat hooks. Anyway, you can take a look more description and photos at this sketchbook website.

Playing snooker will never be the same with CueLight Interactive Projection table. If you’ve been watching anime or reading comic books that has all though beautiful effects on each of their shot, now you can have it too by using CueLight Interactive Projection technology.

This is the Obscura Cuelight Pool Table that make uses of the interactive projection technology. The table has an interactive HD video projector mounted above the snooker table. To track the balls movements, there is a special video camera that will capture the movement, send into the system and translated them into a real-time 60 fps animations shown on the pool table.

What’s cool is not the table, is the projector and video camera, as well as the CueLight System. By judging from this type of implementation, I believe any games that require a table could be having a special effects as well.

You can watch the following video for more details about how the effect is working on the balls. I’m kind of attracted to the fluid/ripple effects because it’s pretty dreamy.

Sadly, there is no information of the availability yet so far. Let’s hope it would be just another concept that would never hit the consumer market.

Here is a fun eye-boggling picture created by Richard Sargent. This man is a true fans of robots from science fiction movies, so he has managed to collect them all, and splash it down onto one big picture. It’s like a big family of robots from all era, but it’s not a family photo here. This picture is actually a challenge for the viewer to find “Where’s Wall-E?” like the “Where’s waldo?” style of puzzle. It’s fun, and I have to admitted that I’m suck with this type of puzzle. I haven’t found Wall-E, so I’ll leave the searching task to you.

If you are the type that can’t live without a notepad even though you’ve already got the most cutting edge smartphone in the world, then you’re going to like this Smart Phone Note that is currently on sale in Japan.

This Smart Phone Note is a notepad + iPhone holder/socket where you can keep both notepad and iPhone 4 in place.

What’s cool is that this Smart Phone Note’s iPhone holder can hold the iPhone 4 in both portrait and landscape mode, and there is a special cutout allocated for you so you can plug in the earphone while it’s on the landscape mode!

The beauty of this Smart Phone Note is on the ability to free up one of your hand to hold the iPhone while you are taking note on the move or on your lap. I love that the cover of this Smart Phone Note also has the cutout so even if the cover is closed, you can still play with the iPhone.

The old-fashioned faucet with water streaming down to a small puddle has set some great impact on the design world as it’s very creative and nice looking (kind of like an optical illusion). Today, the design is not just another decoration anymore as the designer from Japanese studio nendo has turn this old-fashioned design into a stand for either smartphones or tablet PCs!

Nendo designed this faucet stand for Elecom, which we have known their cooperation for long. They’ve designed a lot of gadgets for elecom, including things like flash drive, wireless mouse, cute tailed mouse and many more.

Honestly, I’m kind of amazed by this design too! Even they are just plastic, there is a great art poured in this Faucet stand. The stand is made of polycarbonate plastic with ABS faucet parts. The faucet is available in various kind of color treatment, starting from the clear, blue, black and white.

Obviously, the blue color is the most beautiful color as it clearly express out the beauty of water, while both clear and white color is kind of common. However, the black model is also excellent as it’s very suitable on any smartphone or tablet with black rear plate.
