Logitech’s new webcam is yet another quality web camera that transfer your face to your friends computer in 720p HD format. Dubbed as Logitech HD Webcam C615, this webcam is kind of unique compared to any other models.

First, it has a swiveling base design where it can rotate 360-degree and you can attach it to a tripod instead of sitting above your display. Second, it has Premium Autofocus function that ensure your images stay sharp, even in close-ups mode (10cm from the webcam).

While I think that the built-in webcam on my laptop is more than enough to have a video call, boosting it up to HD mode sounds promising for better image quality (fast internet connection is needed). Also, when you are offline, this Logitech HD Webcam C615 is capable of recording video in 1080p mode. Not too shabby because you can make your own high quality video tutorials if you are a video blogger.

Logitech HD webcam C615 can also take up to 8-megapixels images with software tweaks. Of course, even 8-megapixels sounds promising, this software enhanced value is not always a good performer. But I really love the idea where you can turn the webcam position around the clock because I can chat with my friends even I’m not in front of the laptop.

It play nice with both Windows and Mac OS, as long as you have a spare USB port for this webcam. As for the pricing, Logitech HD webcam C615 is available soon for $79.99. You can buy it at Amazon if you want.

Not everyone in US has a blazing speed Internet connection yet where they can enjoy smooth full HD video chatting with their friends. So getting a full HD webcam is not really a reasonable investment yet. Instead, using 720p webcam is more than enough. At least, Microsoft is thinking the same thing.

Their latest Webcam called Lifecam HD-3000 is not getting full HD 1080p resolution treatment yet, but it stay reasonable with its 720p HD sensor. As a plus point, Microsoft has added their TrueColor technology to this webcam to leverage the image quality. Also, this webcam can be used for your own movie shooting project where you can share it later via social networking sites.

Microsoft Lifecam HD-3000 webcam can shoot movie in HD widescreen mode with 16:9 aspect ratio, while the audio part was taken care by a noise-cancelling microphone.

This fly-inspired 360-degree 3D Camera prototype is pretty nerdy looking, however, it works exactly like a fly’s eye. The camera can see the world in 360 degree and you will never find the blank spot when it’s installed in the ceiling or wall.

There are bunch of mini camera connected to the system and it could be used for an All-direction teleconferencing or for easier film making process. No idea where the creator is going to implement this prototype but it should be pretty easy to find its own ‘niche’ like a spy camera with disco ball shape or surveillance camera installed on the ceiling.

Logitech has finally announcing their own range of main ‘dish’ and ‘desert’ for Google TV. Starting from the Revue companion box for Google TV, the full-functional Keyboard Controller, Mini Controler and HD TV Web cam that could let you have your 720p HD video calls.

The above image is Logitech Revue and its Wireless keyboard. Logitech Revue is practically a glossy and shiny black box that could hook up your HDTV with the Internet via 10/100 LAN cable, or via your home wireless network (802.11 b/g/n). In the box rear panel, you can find two HDMI 1.3a output (obviously it’s not 3D-compatible yet), two USB 2.0 ports, and Harmony Link Technology that allow the easiest communication between the wireless keyboard controller and the Revue. This Logitech Revue might cost $300 to own one in this end of October.

Secondly, the third image is the Logitech mini controller for Revue. Beside it’s small (palm-sized) keyboard, the mini controller also providing a touchpad and remote controller. It could provide users an all-in-one control over the Google TV without holding a large keyboard wherever they go. The Logitech Mini Controller is only 6-inch by 3.5-inch, has internal rechargeable Lithium-ion battery that is good for two weeks of usage.

Lastly, this is the Logitech TV Cam, a USB connected web camera that will make a good use of the Revue’s USB 2.0 port. The web camera is featuring Carl Zeiss optics, has 5 times digital zoom, directional microphones, noise and echo cancellation.

The Logitech TV cam also coming with Vid HD software, and RightLight 2 technology that could adjust images in dim lighting environment. It might cost you $150 for owning own.

USB 3.0 devices finally has been released to the public. Up to date, this is the first Webcam to be running under USB 3.0 interface and thanks to the bigger bandwidth, the web camera can record video in a higher resolution and frame rate.

Sony has a planning to going forward to the realization of their motion controller which was first introduced in E3 event. Their first step toward that technology to add facial recognition capabilities to their playstation’s Eye Webcam without the need to add more hardware in the future when their motion controller release.

Kish Hirani from Sony (head of developer services in Europe) said that the new facial recognition ability is capable of detecting facial movement such as you are smile or not, and it can also detect gender and even the age of the face. This is amazing and it sounds impossible at the moment. It even cooler than Microsoft’s Project Natal which has no such functionality.

But since the head has said so, I guess it’s something that we can wait for and it might be a surprise for us as a gamer because we can have more and more way to interact with our gaming console. 2010 is sure a year that I will excited for.
