This is an exciting news for Amazon Kindle 2 fans on the Non-English Speaking countries. Amazon is going to sell its new version of Kindle and allow more than 100 other countries to buy, download, and read their books in less than 60 seconds. This is great because the user in the supported countries will be able to eliminate the hassles of buying the physical product, pay for the shipping fee, and wait for the book to arrive at their front door.

The new version of Amazon Kindle International version will comes with an identical specs as the existing Kindle 2, where it got 6-inch e-paper display, 2GB or built-in memory where you can use it to store more than 1,500 books and it will cost you $279 + shipping fee to your country.

The only downside is the supported countries are still limited. I’m not sure why Amazon still trying to limit the network and stick to the international AT&T SIM card when they decided to go International. They should have somehow find a way to provide an unlocked version so people in the countries without AT&T network still can enjoy this revolutionary reading device… [Like us for example!]

Especially this week, most of us has set our focus exclusively to the Latest Amazon Kindle DX and hardly to remember that Kindle 2 for awhile. Well, we can’t blame on anything since Amazon Kindle DX did have a good buzz this week. But let’s going back to the ‘Old’ Kindle 2 since we’ve got a good color treatment for it by Colorware.

Colorware has released their own customized cases for Amazon Kindle 2 with several cool color series starting from blue, pink, black and green. It certainly looks more appealing than the default white color. The only downside is the color treatment is not a DIY project. You will need to send your Kindle 2 to them for customization + $199 as the fee, or you can directly buy the pre-built Colorware Kindle 2 for $599.

Certainly expensive and on that price I can get one Amazon Kindle DX + 11 downloadable Kindle books at price of $9.99 each.

Well, it’s a matter of taste. If you have the cash to spend for the uniqueness, go ahead to Colorware site to place your order.

Amazon announced that they are going to have a press conference on Feb 9 at Morgan Library and Museum in Manhattan about the pre-release of Amazon Kindle version 2.

Yep, that’s a rumor but still a good news for those who haven’t get a hold of Kindle as your personal e-reader. And it seems you can’t make any order of the current version of Kindle even you head to Amazon.com:

Your order is expected to be delivered next 4-6 weeks. I guess the one you’ll get will be the version two. But there still no further information about it.

Kindle is a great book reader that allows you to download new books through amazon whisper technology (EVDO) or access to whole lot of media such as newspaper, magazine and books (there are 250K of them now). You also can access to your favorite blogs with Kindle.

The new version is expected to be able to fix the existing bugs, such as the accidental page turns (reported by BGR).

The new version is having a body remake as well. It’s now come in a longer dimension, thinner, and getting a USB-interface treatment as well. Which mean the Kindle 2 will need no more separate charger to power up and recharge the battery for portable uses.

(via CrunchGear)

UPDATE: I found Alibaba.com is selling Amazon Kindle 2 right now. I’m not sure if it’s fake or not. But buying from the external source other than Amazon.com is pretty risky. I recommend you to not making any purchase before hearing the official news from Amazon.
