The PlayFull HD Waterproof camcorder is definitely a great product, however, its predecessor is still great as well. Recently, Amazon has slashed down the pricing for the PlayFull HD Video camera (blue-black, new model) from its pricing of $149.99 to just $69.99 with massive $79.96 discount. It’s equal to 53-percent discount that you would not want to miss it if you are currently looking for a HD camcorder that could take full HD 1080p video recording as simple as pressing button.

Kodak PlayFull HD camcorder is obviously not waterproof like the new version, but it still one of the camcorder that come with a great range of features that you can enjoy. It has 4x digital zoom, digital image stabilizer, has 5-megapixel CMOS sensor, support 32GB SD/SDHC card, and other specs that you can find the full list here.

According to what we have heard, this deal of 53-percent cut off is going to end on the next day (October 12, 2011), so if you are looking of a cheap yet quality HD camcorder, don’t hesitate to check it out!

Samsung is going aggressive late on this month. After revealing a bunch of cameras, they’ve also unveiling two mini HD camcorders that will send chills down to their existing competitors’ spine (thanks to the exceptional features). The code name for the HD Camcorders is HMX-U15 and HMX-U20, both share the same general specs as having 2-inch LCD, recording resolution at 1920×1080 and image stabilization.

The most important distinction between Samsung HMX-U15 and HMX-U20 is the feature of 3x optical zoom and the ability to take a still images out of the moving objects. Samsung HMX-U15 can only take still pictures while Samsung HMX-U20 can do both 3x optical zoom and still image capturing.

According to TFTS, the still images taken from U15 equivalent of a 12-megapixel camera, while the HMX-U20′s result is equivalent to 20MP digital camera. Both camera can record 1080p video at 30fps, will be encoded into H.264 files.

As for connection, it has an USB port where you can use USB cable to hook up with your computer. You can also find a HDMI port for HDTV viewing. Both model will be available in blue, red, silver, and black. Samsung HMX-U15 and HMX-U20 will cost you about $229 and $249, respectively. Expect to see this two model of HD Camcorders to hit the store in this Spring 2010.

Something interesting has been introduced by Chinavasion lately, in a form of never-seen long neck camcorder.
Why long neck? Well, it is all thanks to the never-seen huge and long telescopic lens for camcorder that you can usually find it in DSLR camera.

Wow, this looks crazy. The telescopic lens installed there is not really just for fun. The lens will help you achieving 8x optical zoom, a level where you can’t have it with the usual camcorder lens. Plus, the camera can do still shoot at 12MP, store 30fps video in SD card, has built-in flash light, and a good to see 3-inch flip-out screen.

The only downside that you may found on this Digital Video camcorder is the exclusion of native optical zoom, but it has 4x digital zoom and macro focus mode to cover-up the weakness.

If you are interesting in this long necked digital video camcorder with telescopic lens, go to Chinavasion to find out more.

DXG-125V is a wonderful alternative to many of HD camcorder we’ve seen in the past. Cobby Snapp CAM5000, Samsung HMX U10, Kodak Zx1, to name a few. However, all of them have the rugged case which is designed exclusively for outdoor usage, and you can operate the device single handed.

“The DXG-125V is a break-out product in the HD camcorder space,” said DXG USA senior marketing VP Paul Goldberg, in a statement. “We are excited to bring such an exciting product to market at such an affordable price, making the quality, compact HD camcorder accessible to all outdoor enthusiasts.”

DXG-125V HD Camcorder has 128MB onboard memory, but you can expand it with SD card until reach 8GB mark. Using the storage, you can record 720p video at 30 fps for about 1-2 hours of recording, or you can take still images with its 3MP lens sensor, which has been equipped with 2x digital zoom (unfortunately, no image stabilizer yet) and let you preview it at the 2-inch LCD display.

You will also find a HDMI output for HDTV footage, an earphone jack which allows you to turn this device into a MP3 Player and USB port for data transfer. According to Digital Trends, DXG-125V HD Camcorder has been available now with a price tag of $139.99.

The latest Apple iPod Nano or what we’ve known as the Nano 5G has made lots of fans feeling blue of its nothing new design and specification. But for us, the iPod Nano 5G is interesting because of its built-in Camera with FM radio tuning capability.

iPod Nano 5G is now capable of recording video using its non HD camera. The captured video is stored in H.264 format and up to 30fps together with AAC audio format.

This 5th version is really all about the video features because beside the built-in camera, you will also get up to 15 real-time video special effects which including X-Ray, Sepia, Cyborg, Kaleido, Twirl and so on.

We can consider iPod Nano 5G as the World’s smallest digital camcorder, that could record more than 16 hours of video. This alone is an exciting feature for video blogger or Youtube fans.

There is no measurement distinction, pretty identical to the iPod nano 4G. But it does have a better and brilliant polished anodized aluminum finish comes in nine tasty colors. The iPod Nano 5G 8GB version is priced at $149 and 16GB at $179.

I’m pretty a new fan to Camcorder as I’m planning to get one to record my holidays activity. I’ve doing a good research around and found most of Camcorder is lack in storage capacity especially the one with hard drive. But it seems there is some nice winds blowing from Panasonic, bringing their latest camcorder into my attention. Akihabara said that the new Panasonic Camcorder is going to have a huge 240GB Hard drive! Here is the snapshot of Panasonic HDC-HS350 Camcorder:

Well, I think it’s excellent because this Panasonic compact AVCHD camcorder has the famous 3Mos 10.6Mpix sensor and the 240GB capacity can store 100 hours of HD Video at 6Mbps (1440×1080) or equal to 31+ hours of HD Video at higher 17Mbps with max quality at 1920×1080. Pretty nice, I just hoping the battery will be able to sustain more than 2 hours or so. If not, you will need to recharge lots of time to fill the whole hard drive with your videos.

Panasonic HDC-HS350 Camcorder also allow you to record your movie and store it to your SDHC card (up to 32GB max) and it has a special feature – the IS or Image Stabilizer to prevent blur or ghost effects.

Pricing still unknown, but you should expect it to have a price tag about $1000 or above.

Sanyo Xacti VPC-WH1 is a fresh looking waterproof digital camcorder with IPX8 certificate. If you are a diver, swimmer or love to record the scenery below the water surface, this Sanyo Xacti VPC-WH1 will be a good choice. The basic specification of this waterproof camcorder is to have a 30x optical zoom, 2.5-inch LCD display, up to 1.1MP image sensor and digital image stabilizer with ISO up to 1600.

There are up to 3 fresh colors available for you to choose. starting from light blue, groovy gray, bright yellow. Instead of going in length about this Sanyo Xacti VPC-WH1 Waterproof camcorder by myself, I’m going to recommend you to read TrustedReviews review about it. They have done a great jobs describing the detail and giving out the summary which you can find it below:

On paper, Sanyo looked like it had stolen a march on Panasonic with the Xacti VPC-WH1, as the first consumer-oriented waterproof HD camcorder. But whilst its moisture-repelling capabilities are commendable, video performance in poorly lit underwater conditions isn’t so outstanding. Nevertheless, you will still be able to grab many moments of aquatic pleasure, and at under £300 it’s incredibly good value. So this may not be the perfect HD video water baby, but at least Sanyo’s Xacti VPC-WH1 won’t mean you have to dig deep to dive deep.

overall rating: 8/10
