It’s pretty interesting to hear that my pees wouldn’t end up in the sewer wasted petting strange colonies or habitats. I’ve heard that Japanese has successfully turn real life dirt from the sewer into a “meat” like the one we have in our hamburger. Yep, it’s disgusting, really. But if something like global food crisis occurs, this is one of the solution to fill our stomach with edible stuff, despite of the fact it’s made of dirt. eat your hams, take a poos, turn it into a hams again, and…

Now, I’m not talking further about the dirt that turned into hamburger meat as it’s pretty ‘dirty’. I’m going to tell you about a nice invention out of an old method – the When Nature Calls public urinal system that turn our urine into a fresh water that could be used to feed plants.

Designed by Eddie Gandelman, this concept is suitable for public toilet installation. The system will filter the urines that goes through the filter system, and end up being a super-energized fresh water with lots of nutrients to water a plants. If you have been believing that your pees should end up being useful in some way, this is the right concept that will make your dreams come true. Even it’s just a concept at the moment, there is a possibility that we can see such thing in the future’s public toilet because it’s a brilliant idea. It also make taking pees enjoyable and fun, where we are thinking that the nutrients is end up being used by the plants/trees.

Complaining that removing plug from the power strip is too hard? In the common sense, removing plug require you to use both of your hands to accomplish, with one hand holding the plug to pull while the other hand to keep the power strip in place. However, what if the strip is placed in a place where it’s hard to reach and it’s impossible to stuff both of your hands into the space? In this case, you’d either complain the stupidity or might hurt your fingers when trying to pull it forcefully from the strip.

Zhao Zhaohui saw this problem, so this designer has come up with a smart design called Single Hand Socket Strip.
So what’s this concept trying to accomplish? Simple, it will make removing plug from the power strip easier and can be done even it’s only with one hand.

Take a look at the following picture for more details:

See that unique tab? It will let you remove the plug easily by using your thumb and index finger. Slip in the thumb to the hollowed square and press, then the index finger will pull from the rear to the front side to lift up the tab along with the plug. Very practical and easy to use.

A Chinese-born German-based designer Yiran Qian has created an interesting digital watch with a big hollow in the middle of the watch. The big hole serve nothing but showing what’s this watch all about: The Faceless Watch!

In exchange for the time reading functionality, you can find there is a LED-like digital clock hands at the outer side of the hollow ring. There is one short, and the other long. Nothing rocket science here. The watch above both showing us 01:20, which is kind of easy to tell if you’ve accustomed to the positions.

If you dislike the hollow face, you can actually find ways to stick your photo there manually.

Sadly, this cool watch is still a concept at the moment. However, Yiran Qian has prepare the name for retail version of this watch which will be called “Eye of The Storm” if someone decide to pick it up and manufacture it.

No one would never seen a post-it note unless they are tarzans. So we should know that sometimes using this Post-it note is pretty a waste when we only have to write a short note for notification. This SAVE Post-It note concept has revolutionize the Post-it note by adding more glue in the center of the pad, and made it as an long paper (with guides for tear off) that stick together like a duck tape instead of separated papers where you can tear down as much as you need without wasting paper.

You can easily tear it off the amount of sheet that you need without really have to use the entire paper like the common post-it note. It’s an extra saving by using less. Less paper uses could help the planet and protect more trees.

Directly from Hyundai IT Lab, the researchers have just unveiling their new concept of 70-inch multitouch tablet monitor that could be use as a coffee table or similar to Microsoft’s Surface display. Even better, the 70-inch tablet monitor could be flip upward and make it as a big screen TV with multitouch functionality.

Of course, such a technology will not sold to the consumer level, and it should be prepared for the university, big company, school or news agency for education, news reporting and business presentation.

There is not much details revealed yet. However, the Hyundai IT 70-inch tablet should be coming with a dedicated stand like the picture above. That’s for sure.

When Summer days strikes, most people will tend to go out side of the house to find some breezes. This Solar Cool Tricycle is designed for those who choose to ride a bike circling the neighbourhood, while it can provide a nice juicy cool drinks on its cooling container powered by the solar panel roof!

“The hotter the day, the cooler the ice cream.” Solar panels imbedded in a membrane, connected to solar charge regulators, using wires situated within the panels, generate around 35W on a sunny day. Keepin them cones cool with the power of the sun. Super poetic and scrumptious.

This “Solar Cool” cart features a removable cooling unit so that it can be charged from a separate supply during the night. The cooler requires about 64W “every few hours” to keep the temperature standard. The tank for storage of cold goods is approximately 40 liters.

Interesting. Imagine you can ride on one of this tricycle. You can obviously enjoy the summer day while sipping on cool beverage wherever you go.

The tricycle is made of steel frame, the seat is reversible which mean you can get your cool drinks without leaving the tricycle. Anyway, you can be an ice cream seller leisurely if Aija Golubeva successfully turn this concept into a real stuff!

Heo Jeong Im has designed a cool concept for the coffee addicts. When then usual instant coffee solution is not quite brilliant and hassle saver for you, his Cappucino Coffee Stick may just become the future instant coffee solution for the busy morning.

Featuring a dissolving end, the Cappucino Coffee stick is ‘stick’ with a coffee-fix that will dissolved easily into a cup filled with boiling water and when you’ve added some stirring motions with the stick. Once the coffee has been fully dissolved, you will get one short spoon that looks quite minimalist.

There are 5 type of coffee mix, including Cafe Latte, Cappucino, Caramel Macchiato, Mocha Latte and Americano that will be packed inside an easy to tear plastic wrap. Well, this cappucino spoon is certain amazing.

This camera cover concept is really ROCK! I guess you will agree with me because this concept might completely change the habit and how we use digital camera. The main idea of this camera cover concept is to bring the entire back panel screen of the camera rotatable.

The designer Sun Ho Sin and Jeong Eun Park has adopted a 360 degrees rotatable LCD screen where you can fully flip the display panel to the front side to be the lens protector. Thus, it has become easiest way to protect the lens from scratches, dirt, dusts and bumps while showing a great sleek design that has the look of iRiver SPINN PMP.

However, I’ve seen this kind of concept as more than just a concept for lens protection. If it happen to hit the market, it could be a best alternative of a dual LCD digital camera such as Samsung ST225. The designer could just design a cool feature where the the camera cover (which is also the LCD panel) can be used as the self-portrait digital camera by tilting it halfway (180 degree). User will be easily and conveniently see their face before capturing any photo.

It’s a great design. But I have one question. Did the designer forgot to add the camera button?

Assuming that you have a big fridge with big storage for your food where you can store your food for weeks or even months. It’s very often that the food buried deep inside has gone expired without your notice. Chance are, you might find this buried ‘treasure’ and since it’s frozen, you can’t identify (with nose sniff or by color) whether the food is still in a good condition or not. This is pretty dangerous and you might consume the food without knowing.

To prevent this, Yeom Ha-Na, designer from Korea has invented the Foodmer food expiry reminder system that will help moms to identify their food freshness.

The Foodmer Lock & Lock food expiry reminder system is coming in a form of a stick-able strip, a programmable strip that you can set the freshness duration with automatic countdown timer. The strip will go red entirely when the time duration has ended. The beauty of this reminder system is the easy applicable interface, where you just need to stick it to your Tupperware, or glass tube where your food stored so you can easily keep track of the freshness of your food.

Check out this thin looking electric bike concept by designer Yuji Fujimura. It has the shape of a ‘fat’ credit card with two wheels at the bottom corners. Yuji Fujimura is an Industrial designer, he made this bicycle concept with space saving in mind. This ultra thin bicycle has a foldable pedals, where you can easily find a small and narrow area to park the electric bike. You might be able to park 5 of this super thin bike onto the space that you need to park one conventional bicycle.

Since it is an electric bike, it has been powered by a rechargeable ver2 battery. You can switch either to motor cycle mode or bicycle mode. The difference between them are the pedals. The pedals will set themselves to the lowest position while in the motor mode, Allowing the rider to have a more comfortable feet position.

A Designer from China, Gonglue Jiang has submitted an interesting concept design to YankoDesign. This concept is called ‘InfiniteUSB’, a USB cable with integrated USB jack. A single of the InfiniteUSB may not make any difference, but it is actually a design that has completely unlocked the potential of unlimited USB ports for your computing needs.

You might have read about the 16-port, 24-port, 49-port USB Hub and even the 80-port USB hub. It sounds impressive, but according to the concept designed by Gonglue Jiang, unlimited count of USB port means you can expand as MANY as you need. Theoretically, it sounds impressive and when the arrays of horizontal USB jacks running out of juice, you can plug another infiniteUSB socket with AC adapter to give extra power to the group of infiniteUSBs.

Though the concept says it has the possibility to get an unlimited number of USB devices plugged into your PC using infiniteUSB, I still believe there is a limitation in some way that will occur (OS, BUS power, or Hardware limitation). And can you really find a long horizontal space to fit in 200 of USB jacks? The infiniteUSB socket has no way to go except keep adding the horizontal line. There will still an end of it (limited by room width/length) unless you are trying to break the world’s record by getting it out to the spacious park.

Well, it is a great design no matter what. You can find more information at Gonglue Jiang site.

A cool designer name Konstantin Datz has designed a new rubik’s cube which is exclusively made for people are visually impaired. It has two models, the Braille Box and Brain Doom. Braille Box uses the braille text patterns to give the blinds the idea which side has what pattern in exchange of the usual colorful interface. Meanwhile, the Brain Doom’s Rubik’s Cube is helping blind people solving the puzzle based on the objects on each square (such as screws, knobs or silicone gels).

This Rubik’s Cubes for people with blindness is still a concept at this point, but you can actually make one for your disabled friends because it’s pretty easy to make one (especially the Brain Doom model). You’ll just need some effort to DIY and create one similar to the images above.

From The Country of Singapore, a clever designer name Zyane Tan has designed a cool concept for Sony called ‘Sony Fusion Coffee Table‘. From the first picture above, you might have figure out what it is. It looks like a small chair, or a private coffee table where you can slip your feet below the rounded table surface, sitting comfortably on the floor and sip your favorite beverage on the table. However, the Sony Fusion Coffee Table is more than just a mere coffee tablet…

Sony Fusion is a coffee table that has been equipped with a high-technology fusion, where if you push the on button, the surface will split itself into two revealing the Sony Laptop inside. The screen can be adjust as desired, and the glowing keyboard is the modern type of touch sensitive keyboard (similar to the touchboard that I mentioned last year).

To stand firmly on the flat ground, the Sony Fusion Coffee Table is backed by two arc-shaped chrome legs positioned in a vertical manner, allowing you to place the Sony Fusion Coffee Table above your feet while sitting on the ground. There are three color choices available, red, green and white. It looks pretty cool for working in a dark room.

Who have thought that PSP Go can be transformed into a car-like portable gaming console? Well, Won Chan Lee did thought so with his PSP BUgatti Veyron Edition. His concept is about turning the fun Sony PSP Go into a mind blowing cool car-like portable gaming device. By looking at the above picture, you will know how Won Chan Lee, the designer from Korea want his PSP Go to be merged with the super cool Bugatti Veyron LE super car.

The concept design was submitted to Coroflot, found out by Bornrich and TheCoolGadgets and they reported that the concept was a result of an assignment in Seoul National University Technology in product design.

Won Chan Lee even have thought further into integrating Bluetooth technology, where it will allow multiplayer options (4 players max), pushing the screen to 16:9 aspect ratio, and a SDHC memory card slot. Of course, this require to hack into the core of the PSP and I wonder if Sony will accept such concept to be released as their limited edition.

But everything is possible. We will just wish Won Chan Lee the best luck so his concept could be materialize and later become available in the store.

Over at CeBIT 2010, AVING has spotted a new concept of vibration speaker system called ‘VibeHolic‘. Generally, VibeHolic is similar with I-MU Vibro Speaker or K-Box, where it needs some kind of medium to ‘stick on’ before you can hear any sounds.

Vibeholic, which is known as the new concept of a portable vibration speaker system has attracted the visitors in the CeBIT 2010, says AVING in their special report because it is an interesting speaker that could turn any object with flat surface into a speaker. This includes paper box, wood, postcard, books, bags, glass, etc. Almost anything that could listen to the vibration and giving feedback will become a good medium. The harder the surface, the louder the music will be.

There is no news yet when this VibeHolic will be available, but because if the real product has been produced and demonstrated, sooner or later it will hit the store.

UPDATE: My fellow readers! This amazing VibeHolic portable vibration speaker system has become available! You can check it out at VibeHolic for more detail. the vibration speaker will cost your US$49.90, or about GBP30.90 for UK. [Thanks, Ron!]

Often when we want to have a good and secure USB Flash drive, we will find those with both software and ‘hardware’ encryption features. As you’ve known, hardware encryption means there is some kind of ‘lock’ that will lock down your USB flash drive to be accessible without your permission and password.

IronKey flash drive is the very nice example of this flash drive. However, if you are going to use a ‘very dummy and native language’ to talk about a true Hardware encryption, you will get this amazingly simple but effective ‘hardware encrypted’ flash drive using the conventional steel lock to prevent the USB head to be plugged into the port. Brilliant.

The only downside right now is the locked-shaped USB Flash drive is a concept design by dialog05. No idea when we can actually find one and the pricing is unknown. Perhaps Etsy seller might want to grab this idea and turn it into a real merchandise.
