They have gone into a new field by introducing us to their latest Speaker LapDesk ‘N700′ which is actually a Cooling Pad + Speaker System that is suitable for you to do your job with your laptop on your lap.

This Logitech Speaker Lapdesk N700 is powered by single USB port power only. No need to opt for the Y-cable to properly power up the speakers and fan. Logitech Speaker LapDesk N700 is a thick flat seat bed for your laptop and it will separate your lap from your notebook so you can type conveniently.

As a bonus, there is an on/off button, and volume controls in form of scroller where you can mute it or crank the volume up and you can also turn on/off fan.

More and more cooling devices were developed for netbooks. In the future, you might find various kind of netbook cooler with much more cooler design and more features to enjoy.

Century has taken the first lead(?) to produce their own Netbook stand that comes complete with Optical drive (DVD Super Multi-drive) and a builtin 4cm cooler fan to cool both your lap and netbook.

Century Netbook Stand use single USB connection to obtain both power and data. It’s amazing, but the price might scare you a bit. It cost at $100, which is almost 1/3 of netbook pricing. It’s expensive, I can say. However, if you care about the portability (especially the DVD drives, no more external drives with IDE to USB converter needed), the value should be pay off itself…

Perhaps Microsoft goal is to put this notebook cooling pad under heavy attention in this Summer season, but this notebook cooling pad doesn’t have any specific name yet from Microsoft.

The Cooling pad feature a high speed fan that blow upward, and the overall thickness of this notebook cooling pad is 1.16 inches which I consider fine.

The fan is powered by USB and there is a cable management clip at the rear side. Microsoft Notebook cooling pad will be available in two color choices (black and white) with price around $30 or lower.
