Despite of the release of smartphone with full video playback functionality, a PMP is not yet a thing that should be entered to the museum or discontinued. Cowon has just released their new PMP called C2 with full touchscreen display like a tablet. Even if it’s not capable of making call, Cowon C2 is still a product that worth your second look when you are in the market for a portable media player.

Specification wise, Cowon C2 is featuring 2.6-inch screen supporting up to 320 x 240 pixels, has built-in battery that could handle up to 10 hours of video playback, had video output A/V (no HDMI port, sadly) and it will be available in several capacity model including 4GB, 8GB and 16GB. If the internal storage is insufficient for you, you can stuff in a microSD card to the provided slot and add about 16GB storage at max.

Cowon haven’t released the detail for this C2 PMP yet. However, it should be a product that will compete in price with the super duper smartphones like HTC, Motorola DROID, Samsung Galaxy S, etc. Also, you might not be able to get one of this if you are not in Korea.

Cowon has introduced their latest Portable media Player dubbed as V5S. This Cowon V5S PMP is not only slim, it’s also capable of handling full HD Video playback on its core. Sadly, the Cowon V5S PMP is only getting 4.8-inch screen that support 800x480p resolution. However, Cowon V5S is also a smart player that has built-in ebook reader with several dictionaries like English, Korean and Chinese to support Korean students for improving their skills.

Apart from the little information of this device, Cowon haven’t released the full pricing and details of the V5S specification yet.

Cowon, the PMP manufacturer in Korea has just made their award-winning Premium AMOLED PMP J3 official in the Korea market. This COWON J3 is certainly having an unequaled design and AMOLED technology. Just look at the sleek case design, the Crystal clear 3.3-inch AMOLED touchscreen display, it has some kind of magnetic field that will pull the PMP-lover to want to hands on immediately.

COWON J3 is only 9.9mm thick, but it has a lot of features coming along, such as the impressive 16 millions AMOLED color display, built-in T-DMB tuner, FM tuner, bluetooth, wireless audio streaming and a built-in microSDHC card reader, as well as Flash Lite player, built-in dictionary and built-in speaker and TV output. As for its compatibility, COWON J3 PMP can play MP3, WAV WMA, OGG, FLAC, APE audio, AVI, WMV7/8/9, ASF, DivX, XviD video and image files.

COWON has released their latest White Ceramic Edition or what the called the white edition Digital Media Player. It seems we have missed the last released with Titanium black and chrome black edition, so there is no further news about the previous version of COWON S9 DMP on Hardware Sphere.

This gadget is very cool looking, COWON S9 Digital Media Player support playback for many type of Video format, such as FLAC, OGG and APE which we are seldom to hear about.

It has two version, 8GB and 16GB, both with 3.3 inch OLED screen with maximum resolution of 480 x 272, plus a bluetooth connectivity. Unfortunately, no one know when this COWON S9 Ceramic series will appear in the market and how much the price is.
