It might not qualified as a Portable mod, but at least it could make gaming on the desk quite fun. Low_budget equipped his PS3 Slim Laptop mod with 19 inch 1440 x 900 LED monitor, 2 watt stereo amp and speakers while the system is using PS3 Slim 250GB model.

Nice work, even it’s weighing in 16 pounds, this PS3 Slim laptop mod is still one of the best modification. Head over to Ben Heck Forum for more details.

It also have a 80GB hard drive, 2 slot of DDR (probably 4GB) with all of the devices running under a MSI 945GM motherboard. At the back panel, you will see a two PS/2 ports for mouse and keyboard, DVI-port, Analog, two serial ports, two Gigabit Ethernet ports, 4 USB 2.0 ports and 6 channel audio port. You’d also found 2 USB ports in the front view (where we usually plug our SNES controllers). I think pretty decent for a mini size PC.

With the latest hot trend about the upcoming Mac Pro mini, I’ve seen some pictures (fake and “real?”) about it. But I guess some of the enthusiast just can’t wait any longer and go ahead to create their own DIY Mac Mini!

This cool casemod is not actually a Mac Pro, it’s just a chic looking creation by Modder Widefault. The name is Hackintosh Jr. built from sheet of aluminum and hand-shaping mesh. The Specification is not too shabby. It features an Intel Core Duo T2500, Seagate hard drive (laptop size 2.5″) Wi-Fi, etc.

Casemod always looks good, but doesn’t mean it could be the substitution of the new Mac Mini! But overall, it’s nice casemod and I would also try to make one if something wrong with the release of the new Mac Mini.

This cool steampunk PC mod is the mastermind of Australia-based Mad Uncle Cliff. The main attraction for me is the speaker that looks like an Alien eyes that you would see in Spore PC game.

Inside this cool steampunk PC mod is actually a full-fledged PC, complete with the monitor and speakers. The round shaped construction at the back is actually the PC itself.

Don’t you agree they are bloody cool? Those are some of Wii custom case mods by passionate game freaks. It’s really awesome as I love to see something new from an existing product. I wonder how much times and efforts they gave in to the mods. Some of them are just brilliant blend to the games in Nintendo Wii.

“The Wii has changed the face of gaming with it’s interactive motion controls. So much so, that every other console has begun work on their own version. Just as the Wii has changed gaming, gamers are constantly changing the Wii console itself, giving it all kinds of personalities.”

If you currently have Wii near you, don’t just smack it and do your own case mods. Always remember modding cost both time and money. You also need a high sense of creativity and productivity to create one mod that nobody have.

Why? Want to try to mod yourself? There is more mods sample if you head to Slipperbrick.com. They will also referring you to a useful source for paid modding. Mod at your own risk…
