Samsung is really going nuts with their futuristic gadget and designs. Previously we have seen their flexible phone – The Galaxy Skin, now they’ve got further with their flexible-craziness with their latest concept video on something that is really intriguing!

From that image above, you can see how Samsung is trying to design the future with their crazy transparent display. The idea is really amazing on how you can fold it around without distorting the display, and it could even pop out like a 3D holographic display.

I should tell you that it is not a dream anymore, or something from the sci-fi movie. Today’s technology has allow developers to develop something like what you’ve seen in the video above. The only problem now is the cost factor. It would cost a fortune to create something like this, and it wouldn’t hit the consumer-market any sooner as it will be filtered by the higher authority for their military uses first.

Tim Gushue from San Francisco has submitted an interesting project to Kickstarter. Call it as “InfiniteLoop”, which is a flexible yet versatility solution to create a super-flexible stand for iPad, tablet, iPhone or smartphones.

Well, I don’t really know if I can call it as a stand at all as you can definitely find a lot of usage out of this InfiniteLoop. Although the starting point is to provide a flexible stand for iPad and iPhone (or any tablet devices and flat glossy rear plate smartphones), you can definitely use it on almost anything that you can think of. Infiniteloop is a modular system where you can connect many of the loops together to come up with a new uses.

The loops will come together with a suction cap that you can attach it to the loop like the following picture.

When not in use, Infiniteloop can be rolled into a compact circle and store it anywhere you want.

Some guys from MyRollTop.com has come up with an interesting concept called RollTop, which is the next generation laptop that you can scroll and roll it into a small dimension that let you carry it easily.

Above is the the carrying mode for RollTop. It only measure at 8.3cm (diameter) x 28cm (length), but when it has been fully released, you will get a full laptop layout with OLED-Display and multi-touchscreen for the keyboard. However, RollTop is not meant for laptop only. RollTop can be fully-flatten to get a full touchscreen tablet device, and there is also a kick stand at the rear side to support the tablet to stand on landscape position.

Rolltop is a portable computer for designer, architect and everyone, who would like to have a gadget, which, from an aesthetic standpoint alone, certainly hits the mark. By virtue of the OLED-Display technology and a multitouchscreen the utility of a laptop computer with its weight of a mini-notebook and screen size of 13 inch easily transforms into the graphics tablet, which with its 17-inch flat screen can be also used as a primary monitor due to the support attached to the back of the screen.

Rolltop 2.0 is a further development of Rolltop with some visible and mostly invisible improvements (e.g. internal design, placement of certain components etc.)

The device of the flexible display allows a new concept in notebook design growing out of the traditional “bookformed” laptop into unfurling and convolving portable computer. Rolltop incorporates both latest high-tech devices and a new brand design techniques into a computer that will increase the quality and productivity of the designers work. On top of everything else no laptop bag needed – all computer utilities from an interactive pen through power supply to the holding belt are integrated in Rolltop. This is really an all-in-one gadget.

Rolltop sure looks interesting. Well, what to say. I still think it’s too good to be true at the moment even the technology is supported right now. Even if it’s successfully made into a real system, it should cost fortune to own it.

Korea designer Sejoon Kim is trying to be unique, so he have come up with an interesting clock design that looks like a huge size of mentos candy.

This wall clock has been dubbed as Vegue Clock, which apparently has a vague clock face. You can only see the clock hands in blur mode. However, that’s not how you use this Vegue clock. According to the designer, this Vegue clock concept is having a flexible face where you can push them to reveal the time. See the following image for details:

The hands of the clock are hidden behind a layer of stretchy fabric, and remain invisible as the time ticks away. So if you actually want to see the time you have to get up and press your hand into the fabric so that it stretches over the hands, making them visible” And it also equipped with GPS hardware so that the time is always accurate, no buttons or dials allowing it to be manually adjusted.

In Japan Flat Panel Display Convention in the next week, Samsung has announced that they’ll showing off their new flexible AMOLED display in the Convention to impress the world.

This display is a 4.5-inch durable and flexible WVGA AMOLED display that promises to be having the same quality of the current Samsung Galaxy S series smartphone’s display. Which also mean that the flexible AMOLED is the legendary Super AMOLED panel.

So when you think there is nothing special about a flexible and bendable AMOLED display, just put a thought on your mind about a Galaxy S that has rollable secondary display to expand your view zone. Isn’t that impressive?

A Company called TDK Corp has just showing off their newly developed passive matrix OLED panels. There are two types of the passive matrix OLED panels, the flexible bendable model and transparent see-through model. The display is extremely thin at 0.3mm or less, and the display will not distorted even the panel is bent to a curvature radius of up to 25mm.

TDK Corp is aiming to implement their Passive matrix OLED panels to the future cell phone, where it will enable developer to design their phone with more possibilities. The Flexible passive matrix OLED panels won’t shatter easily as it’s using resin substrate. It would be cool if they the screen is also multi-touch friendly. Tablet manufacturers would be pleased with it and it could unlock even more possibility for the future devices.

Nokia, being one of the top cell phone manufacturer has had its own researchers to work on something seriously cool. Nokia is now looking into developing a stretchable electronic skin that could be flexibly adopted to their future cell phone. According to the latest information, the electronic skin is not only flexible and foldable. The skin could also be stretched about 20 percent of its original size without damaging the internal functionality!

The Stretchable electronic skin is using an evaporated gold as the main conductor to send information between each functionality to the cell phone. The video below show you the elastic touchpad, which is one of the prototype of the stretchable electronic skin:

This is very interesting. If Nokia successfully developed this elastic skin, the future Nokia phones are going to be a great handset!

A new company called Eight19 is currently developing a new organic solar PV technology where they are going to build a solar panel using a flexible transparent material that is rollable like a paper. This mean if Eight19 successfully rolled out this new Organic Solar PV technology, the future solar panel is some kind of a portable power generator that could be laid out when needed and rolled away when unused.

According to Eight19 company, the OPV or Organic PhotoVoltaics system is not operating like a common solar conductor. Instead, it works just like a principle of photosynthesis in plants. The shape of this new OPV solar generator would be very flexible, from a thin face paper to a big window pane or anything that you can think of. At the FPD International show in Japan, Samsung is not only showing off their needle thin LCD TV, they also unveiled their own e-paper device to let the world know they are excellent in producing display gadget. Samsung e-paper device come in a 10.1-inch screen size, ultra-thin, consist of TFT glass substrate and plastic color filter and e-paper. The screen can display up to 450×600 pixels resolution, but has a low contrast ratio at 10:1 only.

The reflectance is fixed at 12 percent while it reproduces about seven percent of the NTSC color gamut. The display is just 0.7mm thick.

Looks quite promising, but no one is allow to touch the device yet. Samsung planned to market this Ultra-thin flexible e-paper display in the next one or two year and most-likely they will make it as an ebook reader similar to Barnes & Noble’s Nook.

Another technology show has made Sony revealing another series of excellent prototype and the actual products of the latest Flexible OLED panels from Sony. The prototype including notebook, watch and MP3 player where the display is bendable like a the previous prototype from HP.

At the CEATEC 2009, Sony crew demos the flexible OLED panel by playing the GrandTurismo videos while continuously bending the panels without getting any images error or distortion.

This Keyboard Pants is pretty cool. It might be able to win the Tech-Fashion of the year if you can tailored it neatly and add some bling-bling to it. I’m not sure if the keyboard will function like the flexible silicone keyboard or not, but it seems this stuff is just a dummy.

UPDATE: it’s not a dummy. But only half of the keyboard work as the creator find it impossible make both of the sliced keyboard to work probably.

The USB connector seems like a fake ornament/decoration for the pants and I can find the actual statement in the makers site. But it should be a working keyboard if you known some electrical skills and follow the guide at the source link below.

It certainly looks cool. But I would rather getting a blue colored flexible silicone keyboard instead of Pink!
