Unlike any grand piano you would found in the music instrument store that is made of wood, heavy, and expensive, this concept of Foldable Digital Grand Piano by Korean designers (Yun Jin-yeong and Jeong Seong-hun) is actually quite portable and should be cheaper.

From the look above, it doesn’t show you how portable the piano is. However, the following picture will show you the condition when the grand piano is in folded position.

See? Both the piano and the chair can be folded into a thin piece of layer that would save a lot of space for delivery process or storing. Of course, we are unable to ensure that the sound produced by this digital grand piano is better than the original one that uses real strings. But at least it should become a nice and affordable solution for the budget-strict musicians who can’t afford the expensive wood-made grand piano.

However, it’s sad because this foldable digital grand piano is just a concept for a moment.

Tino Klaehne has come up with a nice headphone design called the Sinus. WHat’s special in this rounded elegant headphones is the including of rotatable earcup and transformable from a normal headphones into an external portable speaker. The idea is to share what you are listening at without much hassle to find an external speaker. When two is not enough, that’s when this cool concept from the future come drop by to our obversation. Through the YankoDesign network, the designer Kristian Ulrich Larsen has introduced to the amazing phone with flexible AMOLED touchscreen that you can fold it in three parts bridged by soft steel mesh hinges. It’s definitely a nice solution for the screen-junkie who feels dual screen is pretty dull for them.

It looks pretty nice on both flat version and folded version. The designer said that the phone will be installed with custom version of Google Android OS that allow the system to device the display into three part when folded. It’s an amazing thoughts and designs, hopefully we can see something similar to this concept phone being release in the near future.

Nokia, being one of the top cell phone manufacturer has had its own researchers to work on something seriously cool. Nokia is now looking into developing a stretchable electronic skin that could be flexibly adopted to their future cell phone. According to the latest information, the electronic skin is not only flexible and foldable. The skin could also be stretched about 20 percent of its original size without damaging the internal functionality!

The Stretchable electronic skin is using an evaporated gold as the main conductor to send information between each functionality to the cell phone. The video below show you the elastic touchpad, which is one of the prototype of the stretchable electronic skin:

This is very interesting. If Nokia successfully developed this elastic skin, the future Nokia phones are going to be a great handset!

The designer of this Foldup Keyboard is probably inspired by the traditional Chinese fan that you might have seen somewhere in Chinatown. Unlike the Flexible silicone keyboard design, Foldup Keyboard is not roll-able but it will provide you rigidity for typing convenient.

Every time you want to use the keyboard, you’ll have to pull it or stretch it vertically. Once you’ve pulled the folded keyboard, it will reveal the hidden touch-keys with no tactile response (I assumed) when you type your words.

But I will have no problem on the tactile response and I will really love to get one because of my mobile lifestyle. Just one problem though, no idea when this conceptual keyboard could be produced as a real stuff.

JVC has rolled out two foldable headphones that looks cool and convenience for travel. JVC Black series HA-M750 and HA-S650 are their code name and they are designed with special purpose to accompany the latest generation of portable audio devices, iPod, iPhone or supported PMP.

The beauty of this JVC Black Series foldable headphones is in the capability to deliver a full deep bass via its 1.57-inch (40mm) driver (for JVC HA-M750) or 1.42-inch (36mm) driver (for JVC HA-S650) in both ears.

Sheetseat, like the title said is a foldable chair concept with eco-friendly touch. The main material is a 3/4″ thick plywood and perhaps some steel wired is also blended to be the frame so someone can actually sit on it without worrying to break the wood into pieces. Sheetseat is designed by Ufuk Keskin, and it was shown at the IDSA’s Equilateral during New York Design week event.

I’ve been thinking to have such a practical chair, which could be fold up and return just a piece of 3/4″ wood. I might also love the double-duty mosaic folding chair, or perhaps the foldable director chair. However, both of them have no such a simplicity as Sheetseat folding chair. It will eat less spaces even you have bunch of them stack together because it will look just like a pile of wood stacking neatly.

Just a concept though, no word and no idea when this Sheetseat will be released for sale…

Taga stroller, in the first view looks pretty much the same as Zigo Bike that we have covered sometime ago. it’s a bike-like carrier to carry children in the front side, but Taga Stroller has a few new levels of convenience for moms.

The few more great feature for moms is the foldable frame so you can actually stuffed it into your car trunk and unfolding it only takes several minutes. with Taga Stroller, you can even install one more seat for your kid which mean you can carry two of your cute children at a time. Designer Pekka Salokannel has created a brilliant speakers concept dubbed as Gramo Speakers. The uniqueness of Gramo speakers is located on its three layers solar panel, and the foldable interface to allows maximum portability.

There are total of two faces available for you to flip around. The first one is the Solar Panels layer surface and the other blank surface (suspected as the thin loudspeakers) equipped with a touch sensitive upward-downward volume control with finger. Gramo Speakers has an internal rechargeable battery, so It will store all energy produced by the solar panels.

It certainly looks interesting as you won’t need a large space to bring this Gramo Speakers to your outdoor party in Summer time. However, it’s just a concept. So you won’t have the opportunity to enjoy this technology in this Summer. Hope Pekka Salokannel will be able to Materialized this concept into a real stuff soon!

Solar man, is not some type of superheroes such as Superman or Iron-man. Solar Man is a bike concept which is fully designed to harnessing the natural energy (Sun, in this case) using Solar panels to power up the micro engine inside the bike so you can get an electric bike similar to Electric Schwinn Stingray Bike.

The rest of unused power will be stored into the internal lithium-ion battery which is designed exclusively for the cycling purposes. You would expect for a heavy weight of this Solar Man. The total weight is around 12 kgs despite of its small form. Oh, did I mention it’s also a foldable bike, too?

Designed by Chen Weiping (Chinese I guess), this is one of sleek bike concept I’ve even seen. Unlike the last foldable bike (which I assumed unhealthy!), this bike has its own ergonomic factor and I felt positive with the additional features to dress up this bike.

Never thought about a bike could be a backpack, designer Chang Ting Jen comes to knocked our head with his fragile concept of Bike-Pack.

I’m not sure what kind of material he is going to use for this foldable bicycle, but I’m 100% sure there is no hard metal that could last longer if it makes into a thin plat like the design shown.

Except you go to kripton planet and get the hardest solid metal rock, this concept seems going to be just a concept.

Another consideration is on the health sector. Won’t the bicycle get dirty after road rush from your home to your destination? And you simply fold it and carry it on your shoulder?!

Hmm… personally, I won’t bother use it. If there is no other vehicle alternative, I’ll choose to walk on foot to my destination.
