Enermax has shipped their new Brick USB 3.0 HDD enclosure that was made entirely with aluminum construction and sexy slim design.

Enermax Brick USB 3.0 HDD enclosure (or known as EB208U3) is capable of hosting all 2.5-inch hard drive, SSD, or hybrid hard drive like seagate Momentus XT that has SATA interface. As far as the performance, it’s all depend on the how good the drive that you are putting into this sturdy house. Obviously, SSD will be the one that will win the race in term of transfer speed.

I’ve never seen a nice looking external HDD case with twin big blue-glowing cooling fan yet. At least, until today I’ve found one! That’s the new Thermaltake Max 5G that has been equipped with a nice cooling system to chill out the HDD stored inside. No matter what kind of beast stored inside, I guess such as cooling system cool tame it out!

The enclosure is designed in the standing upright manner, the twin cooling fan is spinning at 800RPM, equipped with blue-LED lights to gives cool feeling. Thermaltake Max 5G supports any 3.5-inch SATA I or SATA II HDD (or SSD) and it’s one of the enclosure that has support USB 3.0 superspeed interface.

Unfortunately, there is no further details on the pricing yet.

From Japan, Logitec has introduced us to their new slim and cheap 2.5-inch HDD enclosure (LHR-PBGU2) that looks quite streamline and bold. The hard drive enclosure is only $12 in USD (equivalent price), 40g in weight, and it could hold one 2.5-inch SATA hard drive or SSD.

Measuring at just 75.5 x 115 x 13 mm, this LHR-PBGU2 USB 2.0 external HDD enclosure should become one of the cheapest (but elegant) enclosure in the market and it perhaps will hit US cheaper below $10. Logitech Slim External HDD enclosure will be rolled out around this month.

Looking for a USB 3.0 gadgets is getting easier nowadays. Most of new desktop system has started to built-in USB 3.0 ports and even peripherals like HDD enclosure has become easier to find and the pricing is getting cheaper.

The latest HDD enclosure released by Thanko has now standing on the USB 3.0 standard without any additional port to support the previous generation of USB 2.0. It has comes with its own USB 3.0 cable, a carrying pouch, manual book and some screws to install 2.5-inch SATA HDD to the enclosure.

According to GeekStuff4U, Thanko USB 3.0 HDD enclosure support Windows XP, Vista, and Windows 7 (32 and 64-bit), but no idea if this stuff will work on Mac or not. By using this HDD enclosure, Thanko listed in their spec list that you can speeding up to Maximum 5Gbps transfer rate which is a great speed for external storage.
