Cowon has introduced their latest Portable media Player dubbed as V5S. This Cowon V5S PMP is not only slim, it’s also capable of handling full HD Video playback on its core. Sadly, the Cowon V5S PMP is only getting 4.8-inch screen that support 800x480p resolution. However, Cowon V5S is also a smart player that has built-in ebook reader with several dictionaries like English, Korean and Chinese to support Korean students for improving their skills.

Apart from the little information of this device, Cowon haven’t released the full pricing and details of the V5S specification yet.

Another PMP has popped out carrying the FULL HD functionality. We have seen some of the species before, such as Cube H600HD and iToos M6HD, RAmos T17FHD is also the similar stuff. Supporting Full High Definition, has 16GB internal storage (expansible using external microSD card), a good 4.3-inch 800 x 480 pixels resolution display, and support almost all popular codec and media format including H.264, MPEG1/2/4.

RAmos T17FHD Portable Media Player has HDMI out, a convenience feature for HDTV owner to view their PMP content in their HDTV. And as a bonus, RAmos T17FHD also doubles up as your personal Voice recorder. The recorded sound files will be saved in WAV format. Teclast never had enough with their Portable HD player so they have launched another Taclast C510HD PMP to break the competition. This PMP is impressive, because it has already support full 1080p HD video files and it offers HDMI output as well. The touchscreen is only 5-inch, supporting 800×480 pixels resolution. So you might won’t see clearing how the 1080p video performing in this screen. But it will show off its capability when you’ve plug it into your HDTV.

Teclast C510HD features 8GB of built-in memory and it’s expandable via microSD card. You’ll be able to playback a plethora of media formats, starting from video (MKV, TS, VC-1, AVI, RMVB, MP4, AVI, DivX, MKV), as well as audio files (MP3, WMA, APE, FLAC, OGG, AAC).

Teclast C510HD PMP is not only a media player, it also has included several interesting feature where you can enjoy reading your ebook with its built-in text reader, viewing your photo album with the image viewer, voice recording with the built-in microphone, hear to your local radio channel with the FM tuner, and you can also display your song’s lyric using the built-in ‘Lyric Display’ function as well.

Viewsonic, the Display maker has stepped into the PMP market by releasing their own device entitled as ‘VPD400 MovieBook’, which I called it another HD PMP that support High Definition movie playback. ViewSonic VPD400 Moviebook supports quite many of media file formats, such as AVI, MKV, FLV, MPG, MOV, MPG, VOB, RM/RMVB, H.264, MP3, WMA, WAV, FLAC and DTS/AC3. It’s not too shabby, and the Moviebook is pretty smart because it has another features to record voice memo, and you can even use it to read digital books using its’ 4.3-inch display.

Another tempting Slimmest HD Portable Media player has launched in China carrying the name of CUBE H600HD. The manufacturer claimed that the CUBE H600HD PMP has the slimmest profile, especially for the HD type of PMP. The player can actually produce 1080i HD display, but the output is smaller at 720p only.

It has a quite big screen for PMP at 5-inch, you can play back almost all modern media files such as RMVB, RM, AVI, FLV, MKV, DAT, MPG, MP4, MOV, PMP, H.264 (HP), H. 263, and even DVD file (VOB). It also supports audio files such as MP3, WMA, APE, FLAC, OGG as well as DTS and AC-3. The overall storage size in CUBE H600HD PMP is 4GB and looks like it’s non-expandable. Other notable feature it has is the inclusion of OTG internet, PMU Intelligent power management, remote control, an e-book reader, FM radio, games, photo viewer and more.

More and more PMP has jumped into the HD bandwagon. Teclast is also the one who have stepped their feet into the HD field after releasing their Teclast T56 PMP that does HD 1080p output plus a HDMI port for HDTV footage. The Teclast T56 can display 800 x 600 pixel resolution on its 5-inch screen.

This should be the first China’s Teclast that capable of beating most of the US competitors. Teclast T56 PMP featuring a built-in GPS, FM tuner, memory card slot and an unique unibody-type enclosure. No idea what is the capacity, as well as the price and release date.
