IO Data has just released a new portable TV tuner called SEG CLIP (codename: GV-SC500/AI). This TV tuner can turn almost any Android phones and Apple’s iPhone/iPad into your portable mobile TV without much hassle. The device will utilizes WIFI connectivity on your phone for its connection and you can stay connected with this IO Data SEG CLIP within the range of 8 meters away.

The SEG CLIP itself is powered by a rechargeable battery that could last about 4 hours per full charge. IO DATA SEG CLIP TV tuner also support EPG that let you set reminder and record your favorite programs. The device could be used on most Android phones or iPad/iPhone, even the latest iPhone 4S is supported. All users have to do is to install the SegClip app from iTunes or Android Market App Store into their device and they are good to go.

This IO Data SEG CLIP Wireless TV Tuner is going to hit Japan store at the end of October for 10,600 Yen or equal to US$138.

More storage solution has been offered by I-O Data in their USB 3.0 storage range. Their new USB 3.0 storage is now offering with the function to support direct TV show recording on HDTV that has USB HDD Recording mode. It’s also known as HDCA-UT3.0K, a storage that has been hidden in a complete black enclosure with a line of shining blue LED light.

I-O Data has introduced a new range of USB 3.0 flash drive and external HDDs for the Japanese market. The flash drive series is known as TB-XT that will be available from 2GB to 32GB in size. As for the external hard drives, there are two new series introduced. One of them is I-O Data HDPC-UT series that is available in 1TB and 2TB, while the I-O Data HDPC-AU is smaller which available up to 750GB only. However, to cover its downside, I-O Data HDPC-AU is available in five different color choices for users to choose.

Currently, these new I-O Data product has been made available in Japan only. They will go on sale in this April 2011 with unannounced pricing. If you are lucky, GeekStuff4U will have this item on sale when it has become available.

After releasing their BRP-U6 external blu-ray writer last year, I-O Data has updated this burner to support BD-RE media disc.

This I-O Data BRP-U6 External blu-ray burner is now capable of burning BD-RE disc at 2x speed and 2x for BD-RE Dual Layer. While the other speed left unchanged, such as BD-R DL at 4x, BD-R at 6x, BD-ROM at 6x, DVD -R/+R discs at 8x and DVD -RW/+RW at 6x, plus 5x on DVD-RAM discs.

Expect to see I-O DATA BRP-U6 external blu-ray writer to ship in December for MSRP of 22,100 Yen ($266USD).

I-O Data, one of the popular PC accessories maker in Japan has also rolled out their own 3D monitor with 3D Vision certification. Their 3D monitor is featuring stereoscopic 3D ready, which mean you can see the 3D effect without wearing any 3D glasses.

I-O Data 3D monitor is codename as LCD-3D231XBR, which is a 23-inch Full HD monitor with 120Hz motion picture response rate, 3ms response time, 1,000:1 static contrast ratio, 10,000:1 DCR, 300cd/m2 brightness level, and it has two built-in 1.5W stereo speakers.

This Monitor has a complete range of ports, which included HDMI, DVI and D-Sub. You can expect to pay about $536 USD (¥44,800) when I-O Data LCD-3D231XBR 3D Visin certified monitor has become available.

Seems like I-O Data has developed what’s Sony has left off in 2008. The TransferJet Technology which was introduce by Sony in 2008 is getting a well development by I-O Data. They’ve rolled out a dongle called USB2-TJC with TransferJet Technology that allow you to enjoy an impressive 560 Mbps transfer speed between two compatible devices.

I-O Data TransferJet USB2-TJC is compatible on both PC and Mac, but you should have a transferJet-compatible memory stick (MS-J8G for $110) and compatible gadget such as Sony cyber-shot to obtain the maximum transfer speed. Crunchgear gave us a comparison on how fast the TransferJet can be by comparing Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR that speeding at 3Mbps with TransferJet at 560 Mbps (theoretically). Just like a turtle vs hare in the race! (but turtle never win in this case)

This latest I-O Data new add-up is probably the most (ultra) slim external blu-ray burner I’ve yet to see. Dubbed as I-O Data BRP-US6, this External Blu-ray Burner is measuring at 127mm x 154mm x 20mm only. Thanks to the ultra-slim factor, I-O Data has successfully decreased the weight to 330g only.

The I-O Data BRP-US6 External Blu-ray is using USB 2.0 interface, and the drive is capable of 6x burning for BD-R SL, 2x for BD-R DL/BD-RE and reading at 6X with BD-ROM, it can also burn DVD -R/+R discs at 8x and DVD -RW/+RW at 6x, plus 5x on DVD-RAM discs.

According to TechFresh, I-O Data BRP-US6 External Blu-ray burner will go on sale in Japan in this month carrying the price tag of $343.

After the new standard releases, more and more manufacturer has stepped into the standard producing USB 3.0 devices. Recently, I-O Data has also jumped into this bandwagon by introducing three hardware to support USB 3.0.

The first hardware is a hard drive (HDJ-UT), a USB 3.0 hard drive promises faster transfer rate at 139 MB/s, backward compatibility with USB 2.0, available in two size of 1TB ($231) and 1.5TB($279) capacity. This hard drive is dubbed as HDJ-UT and weigh in 1.6kg.

The rest of them are expansion cards, one for PCIe x1 slot (USB3-PEX) and the other is for ExpressCard (USB3-EXC). Those cards carries price tag of $69 and $93, respectively.

Yes, It’s looks very plain if you want to compare it with other bluetooth speakers. But if you can flourish your imagination, this new I-O Data bluetooth stereo speakers looks much like Wall-E head, especially the rounded eyes.

This is The CPSK/BT Bluetooth speaker, compatible with 2.1+EDR, A2DP, 1.2, AVRCP 1.0, HFP 1.5, HSP1.1 and so on. You can power it up via AC adapter or plug it to your PC/Mac using USB power. It worth 10 hours of play time for each recharge (need up to 180 min. to fully recharged) and it compatible with iPhone (OS 3.0 only) and most phone with hands-free system.

The zoom image will show you the buttons on the top, which consist of play/pause, minus and plus (volume) ffwd / rew buttons.

I-O Data has just released their latest NAS-like External Hard Drive with super HUGE storage capacity. The total capacity that you can gain from this HDC2-U external hard drive is 3TB, consist of 2 HDDs with 1.5TB each. It looks strong enough, but sadly it’s not waterproof or fireproof or even shockproof like SentrySafe.

I-O Data presented to us their first ever slim external Blu-Ray drive. With this slim external Blu-Ray drive, I-O Data helps Blu-Ray entering the mainstream market and reach more users in that level.
